MTV Networks Delivers 57 Million Mobile Video Streams in a Year

94% Growth in Video Streams Caps Year of Monumental Mobile Growth

NEW YORK, April 1, 2008 -- MTV Networks (MTVN), a unit of Viacom (NYSE: VIA, VIA.B), today announced that it streamed more than 57 million mobile videos across all its brands and carriers between February 2007 and February 2008, representing 94% growth over the year prior. The record growth capped off a year in which MTVN cemented its standing as the world's largest provider of mobile video, with more than 100 days of mobile video content available globally.

"In record numbers, our fans are turning to their phones for engaging entertainment experiences, and finding MTV Networks video, mobile websites, games, widgets and more that connect with nearly every conceivable demo, on any occasion," said Greg Clayman, Executive Vice President, Digital Distribution and Business Development, MTVN. "We want to empower our consumers to go deep with our content on every platform, and with that in mind we continue to build a mobile portfolio with breadth and depth unrivalled in the industry."

All of MTVN's brands experienced strong growth in mobile video, even as they achieved tremendous momentum across mobile websites, participation TV campaigns, games and more. Highlights include:

Mobile Video

* MTV continues to be the premiere destination for music on mobile, recording 17 million mobile video streams in the past year, approximately half of which were music videos.

* COMEDY CENTRAL streams nearly 1 million videos every month, up 28% over last year

* Nickelodeon continues to be among the largest providers of kids' video content on mobile, increasing video streams by 70% over last year.

* Spike's mobile streams have surged in the past six months, growing 530%.

* MTV Tr3s continued to be one of the fastest growing brands in all mobile, with average monthly growth in video streams of 38%.

Mobile Web

* MTVN's mobile websites sites have attracted a combined 21 million page views in the past year, as they continued to grow traffic by 75% each month.

* The company launched several mobile websites over the past year including MTV, VH1, COMEDY CENTRAL, Nickelodeon, CMT and GameTrailers as well as vertical sites around signature events, including MTV's Video Music Awards and "VH1 Hip Hop Honors" and VH1's "Critics' Choice Awards."

* Each site gives fans access to news and information on their favorite MTVN shows, music, celebrity and artist features, quizzes and trivia, jokes and more.

Participation TV

* As audiences flock to MTVN's mobile offerings, the company also continues to integrate the mobile experience with its hit on-air franchises through participation TV campaigns.

* Most recently, Nickelodeon's 2008 Kids' Choice Awards pulled nearly 1.6 million votes via text message and its mobile website in under three weeks.

* Fans of MTV's hit 'Randy Jackson Presents: America's Best Dance Crew' voted via SMS more than 12.1 million times in the show's first season, which concluded last week.

Mobile Games

* THQ Wireless Inc., in partnership with Nickelodeon, successfully launched SpongeBob's Atlantis Treasures this past year across all major mobile carriers. This launch continues the success of SpongeBob mobile games with combined cumulative sell thru of over 2.5 million units. (Source: carrier revenue report)

* COMEDY CENTRAL Mobile announced today that it will launch its new "South Park" "Imaginationland" mobile game in June

* VH1 launched VH1's "Best Week Ever" and "Know It All" trivia games, and will introduce the "Flavor of Love" mobile game based on the channel's popular series in late April.

Today's announcement was one of several that MTVN's brands made in conjunction with the 2008 CTIA Wireless conference. The company announced a partnership with mywaves to deliver free, ad-supported video from VH1, Spike, GameTrailers and additional, forthcoming MTVN brands. Additionally, next month, VH1 is launching "VH1 Watch and Discuss Live Chat," a downloadable mobile application that will enable VH1 viewers to connect to the network's compelling programming and other fans of pop culture.

MTVN continues to grow its position as the world's largest provider of diverse programming on-air, online and on mobile spanning nearly every demographic from kids and teens, to young adults, men, boomer and LGBT audiences. MTVN is the leading provider of video on mobile, with more than 80 distribution deals and 40 on-demand and streaming mobile video services worldwide.
