America's Favorite Celebrity Siblings, Donny & Marie, to Host Teleflora's Mother's Day NBC Special

Osmonds Will Crown Winner of America's Favorite Mom Search

LOS ANGELES, April 8, 2008 -- Teleflora and NBC today announced that America's favorite celebrity siblings, Donny & Marie Osmond, will host the "Teleflora Presents America's Favorite Mom" Mother's Day special on May 11, 2008 at 7 p.m. EDT. During the primetime special, the Osmonds will perform together and at the end of the broadcast, they will crown one lucky winner "America's Favorite Mom" based on the results of Americans voting online the week of May 5-9, 2008.

"Donny and I grew up in a large family under the tender care of an exceptional mother," said Marie Osmond, mother of eight children herself. "She was the perfect 'stage mother.' She was there for us every stage of our lives. On this 100-year anniversary of Mother's Day, we want to recognize and applaud the women who create the future for every community through their dedication to raising children."

"Mothers are the cornerstone of every family," added Donny Osmond. "They give so much of themselves everyday and Marie and I are looking forward to play a part in honoring America's real treasures."

The iconic brother-sister singing sensations were the youngest primetime hosts in television history when "The Donny & Marie Show" debuted in 1976. The two reconnected in 1998, when they co-hosted the "Donny & Marie" talk show. Most recently, Marie danced her way back into America's heart during last season's "Dancing with the Stars" and Donny is currently appearing on the big screen in the Disney comedy, "College Road Trip." The pair will also be performing live this summer in Las Vegas for the first time in over 25 years at the MGM Grand Hotel (the run has been sold out for months).

Their own mother, Olive Osmond, who passed away in 2004, started the Osmond Foundation which later became the Children's Miracle Network, a nonprofit organization dedicated to saving and improving the lives of children by raising funds for children's hospitals across North America. Since its inception, the Children's Miracle Network has raised $3.4 billion, contributing critical funding to 170 children's hospitals so they can provide the finest medical care, life-saving research and preventative education to help children overcome diseases and injuries of every kind.

"America has embraced Donny and Marie as if they were a part of their own family, watching them grow from young singing sensations to inspirational parents," said Lynda Resnick, chairman, Teleflora. "Their own mother created such a lasting legacy that has helped millions of sick and injured children across the country. They were a perfect fit to help Teleflora pay tribute to America's incredible moms who are making a difference everyday in the lives of their families, communities and the world."

"We are so pleased to have the great American brother and sister team Donny and Marie join NBC in celebrating a time honored tradition," said Doug Vaughan, Senior Vice President, Special Programs and Alternative Development, NBC Entertainment. "NBC is once again the destination for holiday-themed programming, as we salute influential Mothers from all around the country on their special day."

Thousands of moms have already been nominated online at http://www.AmericasFavoriteMom.com, representing amazing examples of dedicated and caring moms from all walks of life. Nominations are being accepted in the categories of single moms, working moms, stay-at-home moms, unconventional moms and military moms through April 25, 2008, when a panel of experts will narrow the pool to the top three semi-finalists in each category. Fifteen semi-finalists will appear on NBC's award-winning "Today" show the week before Mother's Day. Each day, viewers will be able to cast their vote online for their favorite mom.

Five finalists will be vying for the title of "America's Favorite Mom" on the NBC primetime special on Mother's Day at 7 p.m. EDT. The winning mom will be crowned in front of an audience of millions of people by Donny & Marie and take home thousands of dollars in cash and prizes, including an 18k gold heart-shaped "America's Favorite Mom" pendant trimmed with dazzling diamonds.
