"AMERICAN IDOL" ANNOUNCES SUPPORT FROM iTUNES FOR "IDOL GIVES BACK" AIRING TONIGHT ON FOX

Net Proceeds from iTunes Sales of Shows Performances To Be Donated to "IDOL GIVES BACK" Charities

Apple will once again support IDOL GIVES BACK by donating net proceeds from sales of the show's performances on the iTunes Store. Customers can purchase IDOL GIVES BACK music performances for 99 cents per song and full video performances for $1.99 each on the iTunes Store, with the net proceeds going to IDOL GIVES BACK.

IDOL GIVES BACK will help children and young people in need in the U.S. and around the world, and through iTunes, supporters can donate to the fundraising event by purchasing and downloading the evenings performances.

Performances featured on iTunes from this one-of-a-kind philanthropic special include Mariah Carey performing "Fly Like A Bird" with AMERICAN IDOL judge Randy Jackson on bass, Carrie Underwood performing "Praying for Time," Teri Hatcher and Band from TV performing "Before He Cheats", Snoop Dogg and Charlie Wilson performing "Can't Say Goodbye", Fergie with John Legend on piano performing "Finally," Fergie and Heart performing "Barracuda," Miley Cyrus performing "Good and Broken" and "See You Again," Annie Lennox singing "Many Rivers to Cross," and Gloria Estefan with Sheila E. on percussion performing "Get On Your Feet." Additionally, Daughtry's video performance of "What About Now" filmed in Uganda is available for purchase and download on iTunes, along with three performances by the Top 8 finalists, "Don't Stop the Music," "Shout to the Lord," and "Seasons of Love."

Go to itunes.com for information on how to preview, purchase and download performances from the evening's show. Visit americanidol.com, the official website of AMERICAN IDOL and home to My Idol for direct links to performance videos, which offer a simple click-through to iTunes to purchase and enjoy performances on an iPod, iPhone or widescreen television with Apple TV. iTunes makes donating to IDOL GIVES BACK even more accessible to fans through the use of iTunes Gift Cards and iTunes Allowance Accounts (geared toward younger fans).

IDOL GIVES BACK, the historic Emmy Award-winning television event and music celebration, will raise awareness and funds to benefit six charities including: Childrens Defense Fund, The Childrens Health Fund, The Global Fund, Make It Right, Malaria No More and Save the Childrens U.S. Programs.

The brainchild of Simon Fuller, IDOL GIVES BACK has been recognized as a life-changing program, earning praise from many of the worlds best known figures including President George W. Bush, HRH Prince Charles and British Prime Minister Gordon Brown. Last season, IDOL GIVES BACK raised over $76 million for charity and garnered a prestigious Governors Award Emmy.
