HDNet to Air Seasons One and Two of the Hit BBC Series 'TORCHWOOD' Beginning Monday, May 12

Network to run all 26 episodes from the first two seasons of this provocative sci-fi thriller every Monday at 7:00 p.m. ET

DALLAS, May 6 -- HDNet announced today that it has scheduled an encore presentation of each of the first twenty-six episodes of TORCHWOOD, the hit sci-fi drama that the BBC describes as "inventive, intelligent and unpredictable."

Set in Cardiff, Wales, TORCHWOOD is the name given to a renegade group of investigators who scavenge alien technology to solve crime, both alien and human. Led by Captain Jack Harkness, the Torchwood Institute is a group onto themselves, "separate from the government, outside the police and beyond the United Nations." The series delves into the unknown, with the characters battling against the impossible and highly volatile world of savage aliens and monsters while still trying to maintain their own lives.

The series also explores adult themes and follows diverse storylines.

"Our viewers have spoken," said Mark Cuban, president and co-founder of HDNet. "They love TORCHWOOD so we're more than happy to give them an encore presentation of the first 26 episodes of this great series in full HD."

TORCHWOOD is a spin-off of the long running science fiction hit DR. WHO.

HDNet will begin this encore presentation of seasons one and two of TORCHWOOD on Monday, May 12, at 7:00 p.m. ET with additional airings scheduled for 10:00 p.m. ET, and 1:00 a.m. ET to accommodate west coast prime time.
