BORED TO DEATH (HBO, New!) - Author/columnist Jonathan Ames ("Wake Up Sir!") has booked a cast-contingent pilot commitment at the pay channel for a new comedy about a Brooklyn writer who nurses a painful breakup by acting out his dream to become a private eye. 3 Arts Entertainment is behind the half-hour which Ames will executive produce alongside David Becky, Stephanie Davis and former HBO executive Sarah Condon, the latter of which now has a deal with the network.
UNTITLED AL D'AMATO PROJECT (Syndication) - Twentieth Television has commissioned a pilot for the potential syndicated court series featuring the former Republican U.S. senator from New York. The project, which is expected to be shot in Los Angeles, is designed to showcase D'Amato's own brand of humor and larger-than-life personality. During his tenure in the legislature, D'Amato earned the nickname "Senator Pothole" for his willingness to meet with constituents and help them with their individual cases, no matter how modest.
