Universal Hd Brings the Fireworks of Summer Entertainment Home This July
The second season of "Jericho" will premiere on Universal HD in July with a seven-hour marathon on Saturday, July 12.

UNIVERSAL HD BRINGS THE FIREWORKS OF SUMMER ENTERTAINMENT HOME THIS JULY

Burbank, Calif. - June 26, 2008 - Universal HD is your alternative to hot weather and expensive nights out this July. With more movies, sports and critically acclaimed series, there will be no reason to fill up the tank to be entertained. July features a two-night event during All-Star Game Week for baseball fans and their wives, as well as a triple-feature with this summer's greatest action hero, Harrison Ford. The first season of the hit drama "Friday Night Lights" will air on weekdays this month, as well as the continuation of the hit series "Battlestar Galactica" and "Jericho."

"We have wall-to-wall premium entertainment this July," said Dan Harrison, Senior Vice-President, Emerging Networks, NBC Universal. "Where else can you see Harrison Ford, Olympic athletes, championship boxers and the crew of the Enterprise, all in 1080i HD? This is the future of home entertainment."

The July movie event on Uni HD begins with the Independence Day holiday weekend featuring "Fireworks on the 4th." Kevin Costner celebrates America's favorite pastime in "For Love of the Game" on Friday, July 4 at 8pm ET, followed by Jake Gyllenhall's dream of building rockets in "October Sky" at 12:30am ET. From 1pm to 5pm ET, Kim Delaney champions freedom in a "Philly" marathon. Viewers will go where no man has gone before on Saturday, July 5 with the premiere of "Star Trek III: The Search for Spock" at 9pm ET and "Star Trek: First Contact" at 11pm ET.

Uni HD brings baseball and romance together during All-Star Week. Couples can sit down without fighting over the remote with a night of humor and romance on Tuesday, July 15. Alicia Silverstone kicks off the night in "Clueless" at 8pm ET, followed by "The First Wives Club" at 10pm and 2am ET and "The Jewel of the Nile" at 12am ET. On Wednesday, July 16, Universal HD presents a triple-header with "The Slugger's Wife" at 6pm ET, "For Love of the Game" at 8pm ET and "Cobb" at 10:30pm ET.

This summer's greatest action hero, Harrison Ford, will keep things exciting in HD with a triple-feature on Thursday, July 17. "Patriot Games" kicks off the night at 8pm ET followed by "Clear and Present Danger" at 10:30pm ET and finally "Frantic" at 1am ET.

Viewers get a large dose of their favorite hit series this month on Universal HD. The second season of the hit series "Jericho" will premiere on Universal HD in July with a seven-hour marathon on Saturday, July 12. All seven episodes, including the series finale, will air from 8pm-3am ET and will encore on Sunday, July 13 from 10am-5pm ET. Also a fan favorite, the first season of "Friday Night Lights" will air weekdays beginning July 1 at 10am and 5pm ET. The fourth season of the sci-fi hit "Battlestar Galactica" enters the Sci Fi Saturday line-up beginning July 19 at 8pm and 12am ET, followed by "Jericho" season two at 9pm and 1am ET.

Also in July, viewers will get their dose of Showtime Championship Boxing in knockout high definition. Forrest Vs. Mora premieres on Sunday, July 6 at 8pm and 10:30pm ET.
