CONVERSATIONS WITH THE FAT GIRL (HBO, New!) - Liza Palmer's novel of the same name is being developed as a series by the pay channel. The project revolves around Maggie, a woman who's dealing with the fact that former fellow fat girl Olivia is now less copious and getting hitched to a jerk. Anne Thomopoulos and Anna Garduno ("Rome") are executive producing the project, which is still in the early stages of development. Palmer however won't be penning the pilot script.
DON'T DO THIS, DON'T DO THAT (ABC, New!) - Bob Kushell ("Samantha Who?") has landed a script commitment for a new comedy based on the Gallic comedy series "Don't Do This, Don't Do That" (Fais pas ci, fais pas ca). The project, which has a penalty attached, is a documentary-style look at the lives of two families. Kushell will pen the adaptation and executive produce with Promofilm U.S., the American arm of Spanish television giant Imagina.
HOW TO MAKE IT IN AMERICA (HBO, New!) - "Entourage's" Stephen Levinson and Mark Wahlberg have booked a pilot order from the pay channel about three enterprising downtown twentysomethings who hustle their way through New York City determined to achieve the American dream. Ian Edelman ("Echo Park") is behind the half-hour, which Levinson and Wahlberg will executive produce via their respective banners, Leverage and Closest to the Hole Productions. Fellow "Entourage"-er Rob Weiss is also executive producing alongside Edelman.
