Katee Shean Waltzes Off with Surprise Award

SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE Tour 2008 Kicks Off Saturday, September 20

The fourth season of the smash summer hit SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE came to a spectacular conclusion as Joshua Allen was named the champion on the live two-hour season finale tonight on FOX. Allen, 19, from Fort Worth, TX, received the most votes after the almost 60 million votes cast this season and danced off with the cash prize of $250,000, the title of America's Favorite Dancer and an offer for a featured dance role in an upcoming Adam Shankman film.

Allen's fellow finalists Twitch Boss, Courtney Galiano and Katee Shean were eliminated as host Cat Deeley revealed the voting results. Additionally, Shean was honored as the Top Girl Finalist and was awarded a $50,000 prize.

The SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE winner had this to say about winning the competition: "I would love to say to all of the fans that I love them and thank you guys for all of the support. Always go for your dreams and never let anyone tell you that you're not good enough or you can't make it the sky is the limit."

On tonight's season finale, teen pop sensations Jonas Brothers performed "Burnin' Up" from their new album "A Little Bit Longer," and the cast of "CRISS ANGEL Believe" performed a dance number entitled "Homage to the Rabbits." The two-night finale showcased group routines by the Top 20, the Top 10, the Top 8 and the first-ever "Best of" SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE performance with dancers from all four seasons. Additionally, the evening featured a dance battle between poppers Robert Muraine and Philip Chbeeb, encore performances of the judges' and choreographers' favorite routines of the season and surprise performances by judges Nigel Lythgoe and Mary Murphy.
