For the past 35 years, some of Hollywoods elite actors, musicians, television shows and box office hits have been named PEOPLES CHOICE AWARD winners by their fans. The event began in 1974 with 14 categories, which included winners Mary Tyler Moore, Favorite Female TV Performer, John Wayne, Favorite Motion Picture Actor and Bob Hope, Favorite All-Around Male Entertainer. In 2008, the categories nearly tripled, awarding such honorees as Katherine Heigl, Favorite Female TV Star, Johnny Depp, Favorite Male Movie Star and The Bourne Ultimatum, Favorite Action Movie. To represent the ever-growing online entertainment realm, 2008 saw the first Favorite User-Generated Video award for Liam Sullivans Shoes. This award will again be presented at the 2009 award show and, along with "Favorite New TV Comedy" and "Favorite New TV Drama," will be eligible for voting up until the start of the live broadcast.

THE 35th ANNUAL PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS is being produced by Procter & Gamble Productions, Inc.
