Feisty firecracker Hagar Shipley (Academy Award� winner Ellen Burstyn, "Requiem for a Dream") has lived a life set by her own terms, but when she is faced with the prospect of being placed in a nursing home, she sets out on a personal journey with the hopes of reconciling herself to her turbulent past in "The Stone Angel," a Hallmark Channel World Television Premiere Thursday, November 13 (9pm/8c). Academy Award� nominee Ellen Page ("Juno"), Cole Hauser ("Good Will Hunting") and Dylan Baker ("Spiderman 2") co-star in the sweeping tale, based on the best-selling novel by Margaret Laurence.

A bittersweet journey of love and hate, joy and pain, lust and loss, the film follows Hagar as she reflects on her life, including her time as a passionate and rebellious young bride, her love for her two sons, the freedoms she claimed, and the joys she denied herself. In both the past and the present, she is forced to come to terms with the pain and pleasure, the disappointments and the exhilarations of her life.

Vivendi Entertainment presents "The Stone Angel," a Handmade Films International and Alliance Films production, with the participation of Telefilm Canada, a Buffalo Gal Pictures and Skogland Productions. The film, based on the novel The Stone Angel by Margaret Laurence, was written and directed Kari Skogland.
