A Behind the Scenes look at the House that is History... THE WHITE HOUSE: BEHIND CLOSED DOORS

90-Minute World Premiere Special on History Wednesday, November 26 at 9pm ET

NEW YORK, NOV. 10, 2008 The White House is at all times many different things. It's a museum where tourists come to learn about our countrys history, a place of business where some of the greatest decisions of democracy have been made and, to the families of 41 Presidents, it has also been a home.

The White House is perhaps the most photographed location in all of the United States of America but those images are mostly from the outside looking in. Now, on November 26 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT, in the History special presentation THE WHITE HOUSE: BEHIND CLOSED DOORS, President and Mrs. Bush invite viewers to join them on the first extended televised tour of this grand residence since Jacqueline Kennedy invited cameras inside in 1962.

President and Mrs. Bush share their own personal insights and what it has been like to live in this historical house. In addition, special guests, brothers Leslie and Leigh Keno, well known experts from televisions Antiques Roadshow, join Mrs. Bush to offer their insight and engaging curiosity to the journey.

THE WHITE HOUSE: BEHIND CLOSED DOORS offers a rare inside look at the home where America's first families have lived, learned and helped shape the United States of America.

Viewers see the White House from the Lincoln Bedroom to the Oval Office, and even go behind the scenes at an official state dinner. While winding through this unique structure the special examines the ways the house has changed over its history from its burning by the British in the War of 1812, to the construction of the West Wing by Theodore Roosevelt, to the modifications during the Truman presidency and ultimately to today's White House. Its a glimpse inside this storied home, and an up-close and personal look at its history, that few get to see.

THE WHITE HOUSE: BEHIND CLOSED DOORS is produced by KPI, a unit of Lightworks Producing Group, in association with Big Chief Entertainment for History. Executive producer for History is Russ McCarroll. Executive producer for KPI is Kristy Sabat and Producer is Jessica Conway. Director is Chris Cassel. Executive producer for Big Chief Entertainment is Tim Miller.

As a museum, the White House is supported by the White House Historical Association, which provides private funds for the preservation of the historic White House and acquisitions of fine and decorative arts for the permanent White House collection. Since its founding in 1961, the association has provided more than $31 million for these purposes. The White House Historical Association website is located at whitehousehistory.org. The Association assisted by providing images and video for this production.
