New York, NY-December 15, 2008-NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution has sold Emmy Award-winning daytime series "The Martha Stewart Show" in the nation's top markets for a fifth season in national syndication, it was announced today by Barry Wallach, President, NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution.

Stations from NBC Local Media, Fox, Hearst, Scripps, LIN and other leading broadcast groups have all renewed the series for the 2009-2010 TV season, representing more than 60% of the U.S. Markets where "The Martha Stewart Show" has been renewed include WNBC-TV New York, KNBC-TV Los Angeles, WMAQ-TV Chicago, WJBK-TV Detroit, WTVT-TV Tampa, KMSP-TV Minneapolis, KNXV-TV Phoenix, WBAL-TV Baltimore, WISH-TV Indianapolis and WISN-TV Milwaukee.

"'The Martha Stewart Show' is one of the premiere brands in all of daytime television," says Wallach. "The daily 'how-to' series continues to entertain and inspire millions of viewers each week and attract a very desirable audience composition that both local broadcast stations and advertisers desire."

"When it comes to providing content that entertains, educates and inspires, there is no one who compares with Martha Stewart," said Bernie Young, Co-Executive Producer and MSLO's Broadcasting EVP and General Manager. "These tough economic times make our series more relevant than ever, providing viewers with a trusted source of 'how-to' information and original, useful programming that makes a real difference in their lives daily." Young added: "We couldn't be happier about this endorsement of the series from our station partners and thank everyone at NBC/Universal for their ongoing support of the show."

"We are pleased to have 'The Martha Stewart Show' back on many of our stations for a fifth season," says John Wallace, President, NBC Local Media. "Martha and the team behind her show continue to produce an entertaining daily program that resonates with our viewers."

Shot in front of a studio audience, the hour-long program's format allows audience members, home viewers and special guests to participate and interact with host, Martha Stewart.

Featuring movers, shakers and headline makers, plus everyday people who've accomplished extraordinary things, "The Martha Stewart Show" sheds new light on subjects including cooking and entertaining, decorating, and home renovation and provides a forum for Stewart's sense of humor, love of fun and desire to teach.
