DIRECTV's The 101 Network Intensifies Its Lineup with Emmy and Golden Globe-nominated Mini-Series Sleeper Cell

Seasons One and Two to Air Wednesday Nights, Beginning Jan. 28

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Jan. 26, 2009 DIRECTV's Wednesday night line-up is getting even more intense with the addition of the critically acclaimed Emmy and Golden Globe-nominated mini-series Sleeper Cell. The gripping series tells the story of an undercover FBI agent who infiltrates a U.S.-based cell of Islamic terrorists. All 18 episodes (Seasons One and Two) will air commercial-free and in HD on Wednesday nights at 9 p.m. ET/PT beginning Jan. 28, 2009, only on DIRECTV's The 101 Network and DIRECTV on DEMAND.

An edge-of-your-seat action thriller, Sleeper Cell first aired on Showtime network in 2005 and was met with critical praise and accolades. In 2006, the mini-series received an Emmy Award nomination, Golden Globe nomination and Television Critics Association Award Nomination. Additionally, Michael Ealy earned a Golden Globe nod for his role in the second season.

"I am thrilled to bring Sleeper Cell to The 101Network," said Eric Shanks, executive vice president of Entertainment at DIRECTV.
