GET READY FOR A SUMMER OF BALLS OUT COMEDY AS MTV PREMIERES THREE NEW COMEDIC SERIES

"DJ & THE FRO," "IS SHE REALLY GOING OUT WITH HIM?" AND "SILENT LIBRARY" SET TO DEBUT ON MONDAY, JUNE 15TH BEGINNING AT 5:00PM (ET/PT)

New York, NY - May 28, 2009 MTV is bringing unfiltered comedy with a twist all summer long as the network premieres a new daily lineup combining three unique genres like they've never been done before. On Monday, June 15th from 5:00pm-6:30pm, the weekday comedy block kicks off, inviting fans to sit back, relax and be entertained by some pretty hilarious, balls out comedy. The new block includes the animated strip, "DJ & The Fro," a funny look at questionable couplings in "Is She Really Going Out With Him?" and not really a game show game show with "Silent Library."

"This summer, afternoons on MTV are all about the laughs," said Tony DiSanto, President of Programming, MTV. "Each of the three new series has a unique comedic voice 'DJ and The Fro' is creator driven mixed media animation with the web's funniest and most bizarre clips seamlessly woven into a narrative comedy, 'Silent Library' is pure physical comedy disguised as a game show and 'Is She Really Going Out With Him?' is essentially a scripted comedy overlaid on to a reality relationship format."

Below are detailed descriptions of the shows scheduled to air:

DJ & The Fro 5:00pm

"Beavis & Butthead," "Daria," and "Celebrity DeathMatch" paved the way for MTV's fresh animation series, "DJ & the Fro." Chronicling the working lives of DJ and the Fro, two twenty-something slackers who spend most of their days avoiding work and watching viral videos. "DJ and The Fro" is creator driven mixed media animation with the web's funniest and sometimes bizarre clips woven into a narrative comedy.

DJ - Working his first real job, wants to do well, but it's just so hard with all of these awesome internet clips out there! He is a bit neurotic, but not the kind that does well at work the kind that's really, really fun to mess with.

The Fro - Also working his first real job, but knows his true destiny is finding the ultimate internet clip. If you dare him to do something, he'll do it. And if you don't dare him, he'll dare himself, to prove that you're a wuss for not daring him. And of course, his trademark is his glorious red afro.

Is She Really Going Out With Him? 5:30pm

Inspired by the popular website Hot Chicks with Douchebags, "Is She Really Going Out With Him?," essentially a scripted comedy overlaid onto a reality relationship format, is a hilarious daily strip that aims to tear down the mystery behind pop culture's latest unexplainable phenomenon- beautiful and innocent young sweethearts who fall for self-absorbed, overly-tanned, tattoo covered tools. After scouring the country for the most fertile bad boy breeding grounds, the show investigates every variety, each with their own language, lifestyle and over-the-top persona. Using the comedic viewpoint of our narrator, each episode will break down one relationship, focusing in on the self-absorbed dude and the girl who inexplicably loves him. Along the way, our leading lady is armed with the helping hand and guidance of her loyal BFF, but in the end she will ultimately have to make her own fateful decision. Will she stay with her bloke of a boyfriend or tear loose and move on to a better man?

Silent Library 6:00pm

Modeled after a popular Japanese game show, "Silent Library" is pure physical comedy that will test the composure, endurance and determination of six friends who will have to watch as "one of their own" is subjected to unbelievable challenges ranging from brushing one's teeth with wasabi to having their face held in the path of the dreaded slapping machine. The twist, it all takes place in the confines and hushed tones of a library. Try not to laugh out load when your friend's being tested in side-splitting ways, right before your watering eyes.

Within each episode of "Silent Library," a team of six friends will draw cards to determine who must step up to the plate to endure the next "test." The teammate who unluckily draws the skull and crossbones card will have to complete the task at hand to the satisfaction of the host and moderator of Silent Library. Should a teammate not last long enough as they perform the stunt or should their friends seated beside them break the one rule of the library, silence, they'll lose out on winning the big money.

DJ and the Fro was created for MTV by Dave Jeser and Matt Silverstein. Brent Haynes and Tony Disanto are the MTV executives overseeing the project.

John Foy and Troy Searer from Tijuana Entertainment and Gail Berman and Lloyd Braun from Berman Braun serve as the Executive Producers of "Is She Really Going Out With Him?" Jay Louis is executive producer and Rob LaPlante is co-executive producer. Maira Suro is the MTV creative executive and Amy Hussey is the MTV production executive.

Silent Library is executive produced by Adam Dolgins and Frank Gregory. Liz Gateley, Brent Haynes and Sam Grossman are executives in charge for MTV.
