Poppy Montgomery to Make Cinderella Pact With Lifetime Movie Network

LOS ANGELES, June 11 -- Forget wedging your foot into the fabled glass slipper; try getting into last season's "skinny" jeans! Next February, Poppy Montgomery (Without a Trace) is set to star in Lifetime Movie Network's adaptation of Sarah Strohmeyer's popular novel Cinderella Pact. Emmy(R) Award-winning Executive Producer Barbara Lieberman (Murder in the Hamptons) presents the classic tale with a sugar-coated twist: a story about three best friends who, in a last ditch effort to lose weight, make a pact to follow the advice of their "fairy godmother" and end up changing their lives forever. Cinderella Pact will premiere in February 2010 on Lifetime Movie Network, Lifetime's sister network and the second highest rated women's channel.

ABOUT CINDERELLA PACT

By day, Nola Devlin (Montgomery) is an unassuming, frumpy magazine editor who is overlooked and teased by her co-workers. When the sun sets, though, and she is behind the glow and anonymity of her computer screen, she becomes the famous and "reclusive" advice columnist Belinda Apple. Nola's friends, tired of being overworked and overweight, band together to create the "Cinderella Pact," vowing to lose pounds by following the advice of their "fairy godmother," Apple. When her secret identity is threatened, Nola is forced to take her own alter-ego's advice. But, as the group of friends drops dress sizes, their real issues are exposed, and better-than-expected life changes begin to blossom.

ABOUT POPPY MONTGOMERY

A native of Sydney, Australia, Montgomery arrived in Los Angeles at the age of 18, intent on fulfilling her acting ambition. Montgomery was soon guest-starring on shows such as NYPD Blue and Party of Five. Her breakout role came in 2001 when she was tapped to star as Marilyn Monroe in the CBS miniseries Blonde. On the big screen, Montgomery has co-starred in The Other Sister, Life, 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover and Dead Man on Campus. Most recently, she starred in the hit CBS series Without a Trace.

ABOUT THE PRODUCTION

Cinderella Pact is produced by Barbara Lieberman Productions for Lifetime Movie Network. Barbara Lieberman (Murder in the Hamptons) executive produces a script from Nancey Silvers (Girl, Positive) and Janet Brownell (Northern Lights), based on novel by Sarah Strohmeyer (The Sleeping Beauty Proposal).
