NEW YORK, June 22 -- COMEDY CENTRAL, a division of MTV Networks Entertainment Group, a unit of Viacom (NYSE: VIA, VIA.B), and comedians Michael Showalter and Michael Ian Black announced today the launch of Michael And Michael Have Issues.com, the premier online destination for and comedy junkies with issues. The new site launches in conjunction with Showalter and Black's new sketch comedy series "Michael & Michael Have Issues" which debuts on COMEDY CENTRAL on Wednesday, July 15 at 10:30 p.m.
Michael And Michael Have Issues.com is designed to be a one-stop shop on the Web for comedy junkies with issues. Users can get their daily fix as Michael and Michael blog, tweet and post videos that find new ways to do what they do best -- get on each other's nerves. It's the ultimate guide on how to confront your insecurities and undermine your friend.
The site also invites users to join Michael and Michael and members of the new series' cast and crew at Michael And Michael Have Issues.com for updates from the set, messages and thoughts from Showalter and Black, as well as original drawings and videos from the guys. Each week, the site will feature video previews of new episodes, video highlights of some of your favorite moments immediately after each episode premieres and exclusive videos from the Michaels. Fans will also be able to test their smarts with a great new "Michael & Michael Have Issues" word game. And for fans on the go, Michael And Michael will be available on their cell phones with a mobile web site, streaming video and blogs.
"Michael & Michael Have Issues" debuts on Wednesday, July 15 at 10:30pm and stars Black and Showalter in a new twist on narrative and sketch comedies that features the long-time comedic partners as the hosts of their own fictitious sketch show. In the seven episode series, sketches will be interspersed throughout the narrative thread of each episode. Behind-the-scenes of the show-within-a-show, viewers will get a first-hand look at issues, both big (in an attempt to broaden their appeal, the guys turn their show into a frat house spectacle) and small (the two Michaels fight over the approval of a teenage intern writing an article about them for his high school newspaper) that the two misguided stars wrestle with as they confront their own issues of insecurity and jealousy as each attempts to undermine the other.
