OXYGEN MEDIA LAUNCHES NETWORK'S FIRST-EVER ORIGINAL WEB SERIES, "MOMMYWOOD," BASED ON TORI SPELLING'S BEST-SELLING MEMOIR ON TUESDAY, JUNE 30
Oxygen.com's Companion Series Provides "Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood" Fans Exclusive Interviews and In-Depth Look Into Hollywood Family
NEW YORK - June 30, 2009 - Can't get enough Tori and Dean? Starting Tuesday, June 30, Oxygen Media launches its first-ever original web series titled "Mommywood," based on the New York Times best-selling book written by Oxygen's own Tori Spelling. The webisodes, available at www.oxygen.com/mommywood, complement Oxygen's hit reality series "Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood," which airs Tuesdays at 10PM ET/PT.
"Our audience's appetite for everything Tori seems limitless," said Jason Klarman, General Manager, Oxygen Media. "So launching our first web series based on one of her best selling books seemed like a no brainer."
The 10 three-to-five minute webisodes bring to life Tori and Dean's joys and challenges parenting in Hollywood, including dealing with paparazzi, first-time mom anxieties, losing the baby weight and, of course, Tori's relationship with mom Candy Spelling. Each episode, focusing on a chapter from the book, brings fans up close and personal into Tori and Dean's lives, including new exclusive interviews.
Mommywood (Simon Spotlight Entertainment) was released in April 2009. The book is a follow-up to her New York Times best-selling memoir, sTORI Telling, but focuses on her life as a mother.
Now in the middle of the fourth season of "Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood," Tori and Dean, who have a steady workflow in the entertainment industry, now try to do it all while catering to their two children and keeping their romance alive. Fans watch as the couple juggles TV appearances, another move, a movie of the week, another book and a jewelry line. Is this modern day Hollywood family up for the challenge?
The couple created the show and executive produce the series along with Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato of World of Wonder Productions. Richard Courtney and Robert Sizemore serve as co-executive producers.
