10 THINGS I HATE ABOUT YOU/RUBY AND THE ROCKITS (ABC Family) - The cable channel has renewed its freshman comedy "10 Things I Hate About You" for a second season. The series, about two polar opposite sisters (Lindsey Shaw, Meaghan Jette Martin), will return with 10 new episodes sometime next year. Meanwhile, ABC Family has also opted to pass on a second go around for lead-out "Ruby and the Rockits." The sitcom, about a pair of aging pop stars (David and Patrick Cassidy) and their families, wraps its run on Tuesday, September 22.

MY BOYS (TBS) - The Turner-owned network has ordered a fourth season of the comedy series. Nine new episodes of the single-camera half-hour, which stars Jordana Spiro "as a Chicago sportswriter continually on the hunt for Mr. Right," are set to roll out in 2010. "Boys" has posted gains among adults 18-34 in each season to date - 22% in season two and 11% in season three. Jamie Kaler, Kellee Stewart, Kyle Howard, Michael Bunin and Reid Scott also star. Not returning however is Jim Gaffigan, who played Spiro's brother on the first three seasons. No reason for his departure was given.

SMALLVILLE (The CW) - Julian Sands ("24") has been tapped as the young Jor-El on the veteran drama series, Entertainment Weekly reports. He'll make his first appearance in a November installment dubbed "Kandor," in which it's revealed he too has returned to present day Earth along with arch-nemesis Zod (Callum Blue). Terrence Stamp currently provides the voice of the character, which exists as a construct inside son Clark Kent's Fortress of Solitude.
