--All-New Episodes of DR. G: MEDICAL EXAMINER Return the Following Week, Beginning Monday, October 26, at 9 PM (ET/PT)--

(Silver Spring, Md.)- America's most-prominent medical examiner, Dr. Jan Garavaglia-also known as "Dr. G"-opens the files on some of the most astonishing forensic investigations of our time in an all-new hour-long special. On Monday, October 19, at 9 PM (ET/PT), Discovery Health will premiere DR. G: AMERICA'S MOST SHOCKING CASES-an inside look at cases that bewildered pathologists and will astound viewers. Audiences can also catch Dr. G as a key guest contributor on The Dr. Oz Show. She joins the "Core Team Oz" collection of experts for the syndicated show's premiere season, sharing information and advice in her area of specialization.

As chief medical examiner for the District Nine Medical Examiner's Office in Florida, Dr. G has performed thousands of autopsies, ranging from the routine to the remarkable. Having tackled numerous bizarre and outrageous cases over her 20 years on the job, it's hard to surprise Dr. G-but every once in a while, a case can floor even the most seasoned medical examiner. Taking viewers outside of her Orlando morgue, Dr. G examines cases from other jurisdictions that grabbed her attention and triggered reverberations throughout the United States.

Featuring stunning twists and turns, DR. G: AMERICA'S MOST SHOCKING CASES demonstrates how the impact of these deaths extends far beyond the morgues of their investigators. While one case exposes an intricate crime of epic proportions, another contains a shocking insight into the murky origins of a deadly global pandemic:

* A 44-year-old motorcycle enthusiast dies in the hospital after eight months of battling injuries sustained in a serious accident. At first, pneumonia is assumed to be the cause of death-but the autopsy reveals a shocking twist and a horrific secret.

* Twelve years after his mysterious death, investigators believe they finally have the clues necessary to determine what killed a 16-year-old boy. After examining frozen tissue samples, pathologists try to understand why antibiotics could not help the boy-and what unexpected conditions resulted in this cold case.

The following week, Dr. G is back in her own morgue with all-new episodes of the hit series DR. G: MEDICAL EXAMINER on Monday, October 26, at 9 PM (ET/PT). Drawing viewers into a world of mystery and forensics, each episode demonstrates Dr. G's relentless determination to discover the truth and provide answers to families' lingering questions about the death of their loved ones.

DR. G: AMERICA'S MOST SHOCKING CASES and DR. G: MEDICAL EXAMINER are produced for Discovery Health by Atlas Media Corporation. For Discovery Health, Alon Orstein is executive producer. For Atlas Media Corporation, Bruce David Klein is executive producer.
