Planet Green Heads Into 2010 With New Series and Stories About Passionate People Creating Positive Change

SILVER SPRING, Md., Nov. 17 -- From the policemen and women sworn to protect, to walking on skyscrapers hundreds of feet in the air, Planet Green looks to the New Year with a wider lens as it broadens the network programming line-up. This winter, Planet Green introduces a new genre to the network with an original enviro-crime drama, OPERATION WILD and puts a spin on the sustainable building category with ULTIMATE POWER BUILDERS. Anchored by the third seasons of returning series GREENSBURG and WA$TED!, the channel with an expanded filter has fully committed to bringing colorful personalities on air through engaging fresh content. Jeff Hasler, Senior Vice President Production and Development, Planet Green, made the announcement:

Planet Green also introduces the new, limited series ULTIMATE POWER BUILDERS (4x60) World Premiere Friday, December 4 at 10:00 p.m. ET. This series defies all four basic elements (earth, air, fire, and water) to engineer big, ambitious and environmentally-friendly projects that will shape the Earth's landscape for future generations, while providing unlimited sources of energy. Watch as the construction of one mega-structure after another evolves, whether it's a carbon neutral city in the Middle East; a skyscraper in China which produces its own power and water; an energy plant that harnesses the power of the atom or a geothermal station that drills deep within the Earth to tap the extreme heat down below to operate. ULTIMATE POWER BUILDERS reveals how far technology will go to secure a sustainable existence for all. ULTIMATE POWER BUILDERS is a co-production of Saint Thomas Productions and Planet Green.

In an unexpected turn, Planet Green introduces viewers to the all new, original enviro-crime drama series, OPERATION WILD (6x30) World Premiere Friday, January 8, 2010 at 10:00 p.m. ET. Whether it's rescuing distressed boaters, wrangling defiant alligators or hunting down nighttime poachers, it's never a typical day for the officers of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission (FWC). Using boats, helicopters, airboats or patrol vehicles, the men and women of the FWC protect Florida's people as well as its animals that live within a precious ecosystem. With one of the largest jurisdictions in the state, this highly trained, elite group handles calls from the unexpected to the unbelievable as well as everything in between in an effort to keep one of our nation's last frontiers safe. Operation Wild is a co-production of Greif Company and Planet Green.

WA$TED! SEASON 3 (10x30) Premieres April 2010

WA$TED! takes average American households and businesses and shows them just how much they over consume. In each episode, author, social activist and series host Annabelle Gurwitch, audits waste, energy, water and transportation consumption in an effort to save both resources and cash. This season, viewers enjoy an all access pass into the lives of the families and businesses that take the WASTED! challenge, including a modern day Brady Bunch-style family and a creative play and party center for children. The participants make new product choices and some critical behavioral changes that transform them into conscious consumers. As a bonus, the families are rewarded cash for their accomplishments.

GREENSBURG SEASON 3 (4x60) Premieres May 2, 2010

The city of Greensburg captured the hearts of people around the world after an EF5 tornado, one of the strongest in American history, devastated the city on May 4, 2007. Now in the final chapter of this inspiring story, Planet Green visits the community and documents how the enormous task of transforming a small city into a sustainable center has become a reality. As former residents return and the downtown area nears completion, GREENSBURG has become a testament to the resiliency of the human spirit, bringing hope for future generations.
