Headlining the week is the premiere of CONFESSIONS OF A REALITY SHOW LOSER on Wednesday, January 6, at 9 PM (ET/PT). This hour-long special chronicles the weight woes of Erik Chopin, best known as the season three winner of NBC's "Biggest Loser" after losing an astounding 214 lbs. Since the show wrapped in 2006, Erik has gained almost all of the weight back, leaving him at risk for serious obesity-related health problems and feeling demoralized. Determined to regain his healthy lifestyle once again, CONFESSIONS OF A REALITY SHOW LOSER follows Erik on his personal journey to lose the weight for good--and to ultimately save his life.

NEW YEAR, NEW YOU will also feature the following all-new world premiere programs:

* I WAS DEAD

NEW! Premieres Monday, January 4, at 9 PM (ET/PT)

This hour-long special features the unbelievable, true-life accounts of people who have died--and lived to tell about it. I WAS DEAD offers a look at this phenomenon from a medical and supernatural perspective, and explores how these near-death experiences have transformed lives.

* DR. OZ'S ULTIMATE TOP 20

NEW! Premieres Thursday, January 7, at 9 PM (ET/PT)

Now host of the nationally syndicated "The Dr. Oz Show," Discovery Health revisits Dr. Mehmet Oz's best cable TV moments in an hour-long special delivering a healthy dose of good-for-you information from everyone's favorite doctor. Dr. Oz takes viewers on a walk down memory lane, featuring a look back at the various stories Discovery Health has filmed over the years from Carmen the chef, who lost 40 lbs in just a few months, to Frank the bowler, whose three-month intervention with Dr. Oz actually saved his life.

Discovery Health also will offer encore presentations of popular programs that feature individuals who must undergo shocking transformations in a last-ditch effort to reclaim their lives:

* HOARDERS: BURIED ALIVE

Network Premiere Sunday, January 3, at 9 PM (ET/PT)

This hour-long special profiles the mysterious world of compulsive hoarders. From the outside, they look like normal, happy families--but behind closed doors, they are hiding a dark secret. HOARDERS: BURIED ALIVE shares the stories of a few brave families who open the doors to their homes.

* HALF-TON TEEN: CONFRONTING ADDICTION

Network Premiere Tuesday, January 5, at 9 PM (ET/PT)

Once the world's heaviest teenager, Billy Robbins' weight loss efforts have recently stalled and now, he is falling back on old habits. In the third installment of HALF-TON TEEN, doctors make a desperate attempt to save Billy from self-destruction.

Online at discoveryhealth.com, visitors will have access to information on improving their physical, mental and spiritual health in the New Year. With exclusive online video content, expert advice as well as user-generated forums and message boards, the refreshed site will also feature a "Resolution Generator," an interactive activity allowing users to take a quiz to determine which New Year's resolution best suits their goals.
