SCOUNDRELS (ABC, New!) - The Alphabet has commissioned eight episodes of a new drama from Lyn Greene and Richard Levine ("Nip/Tuck"). The project, which comes from ABC Studios and South Pacific Pictures, is based on the New Zealand series "Outrageous Fortune," about "a family of small-time crooks who decide to go legit after their father lands in jail." The network took a stab at importing the show back in 2008 as "Good Behavior" with Catherine O'Hara, Gary Cole, Jeffrey Tambor, Treat Williams and Mae Whitman among the principal roles. Rob Thomas penned said incarnation, which was directed by Charles McDougall. Greene and Levine are behind the new edition with John Barnett, Michael Larkin and Michael Goldstein returning as executive producers. Francie Calfo is likewise executive producing the hour, which is set to roll out this summer.
