SURVIVORS CONTINUES WITH THE U.S PREMIERE OF SEASON TWO NOW ON TUESDAYS

The U.S. premiere season of BBC AMERICA's thrilling new series, Survivors has viewers glued to their screens and on the heels of season one's upcoming explosive finale comes the U.S. premiere of season two. TV Guide called Survivors, "down-to-earth sci-fi at its gritty best" while Variety said "Post-apocalyptic visions have been all the rage of late, but BBC AMERICA's Survivors finds a sweet spot in the midst of such mayhem..." Survivors season one finale airs Saturday, March 20, 9:00p.m. ET/PT and season two premieres on a new night, Tuesday, March 23, 9:00p.m. ET/PT.

From the co-creator and writer of Primeval, Adrian Hodges, season one introduced viewers to a bewildered but resilient group of survivors led by Abby Grant (Julie Graham). They all experienced the similar devastating loss of family and friends when a mystery virus killed almost the entire human race. Abby left London to discover whether her son Peter, who was on a school adventure holiday, had survived. On her way, she came across the other survivors, some of whom bonded into a group. But without the rule of law she never knew if the next person she encounters would prove friendly or hostile.

Season two shows the group now struggling not just against the difficulties of day to day life amid the ruins of the post-virus apocalypse, but also against the threat of other emerging communities and the machinations of the sinister Lab. Returning for this high octane second season alongside Abby is, Greg, a loner, hiding the pain of his past; Anya, a doctor who has seen too much; Al, a playboy who became a surrogate father to young and headstrong Najid; Sarah, a hedonist used to getting her own way and Tom Price handsome, dangerous and a high security prisoner before the virus hit.

As the season unfolds and the tension mounts, the threat of danger, concealed secrets, lies and violence is eternally present, and the group is forced time and again to ask themselves: are they in it together, or is it each man for himself?

BBC AMERICA brings audiences a new generation of award-winning television featuring news with a uniquely global perspective, provocative dramas, razor-sharp comedies, life-changing makeovers and a whole new world of nonfiction. BBC AMERICA pushes the boundaries to deliver high quality, highly addictive and eminently watchable programming to viewers who demand more. It is available on digital cable and satellite TV in more than 67 million homes.

EPISODE 5

When a so-called spiritual leader called John turns up at the survivors' home with his group of followers, some in the house are suspicious of his motives. Charming and eloquent, John is a preacher with a unique perspective on the new world, but the family's opinion of him is split. Some find comfort in his message, while others are deeply distrusting of his motives.

Linda, a woman in John's group, is pregnant, and Abby allows her to stay until the baby is born. Anya fears that she will be forced to reveal the fact that she is a doctor if there are any problems with the birth. Worse than that, she picks up on some unusual remarks made by John, which make her concerned for the group's safety.

Al is much more positive about John's group. He spots a pretty woman called Louise and uses his charm to seduce her. He is feeling much more like his old self until he realizes that Louise isn't as innocent as she seems.

Meanwhile, Anya's fears are realized when Linda experiences complications and John's serene faade starts to crumble. As the situation reaches crisis point, Anya is forced to confront some harrowing truths about her own past, putting her relationship with Tom on a new footing. Abby and the others also realize that, through a misguided act of kindness, they have put themselves in terrible jeopardy. Episode 5 premieres Saturday, March 13, 9:00p.m. ET/PT

EPISODE 6

Abby and her friends find themselves on the run from Samantha and Dexter, who have formed a dangerous alliance that threatens everyone's freedom. Meanwhile, Sarah is confronted by a face from the past which leads her to betray her new f.riends. When Naj goes missing, the family is forced to face the dangers of the city in order to find him. Their food and water supplies have been stolen from their car by desperate urban survivors, so they know they may not be able to survive long enough to find Naj. The family is nearly torn apart when Greg and Abby find themselves on opposite sides of an argument.

Meanwhile, Naj is befriended by a feral boy named Darren who lives with the sinister Craig and June. They look after a group of children who forage amid the ruins of the city, in return for shelter and protection.

Naj soon sees that Craig is ruthlessly exploiting Darren and the others but, without Abby, he faces a struggle to save himself. With his adopted family searching for him in the deserted city, time is rapidly running out and Dexter is only a step behind them all. Episode 6 premieres Saturday, March 20, 9:00p.m. ET/PT

EPISODE 7

As the new season begins, Abby is being held by Whittaker and Fiona at the Lab. There, she learns the scientists have avoided infection and are looking desperately for a vaccine which they believe her unique immune system alone will generate. Meanwhile, the group races to save Greg's life as he lies dying from a gunshot wound. Drawn into a burning hospital in search of the necessary medical equipment, Al and Anya are caught in an avalanche of rubble as the building collapses around them. Tom is faced with the stark challenge of rescuing his friends from a seemingly insurmountable disaster, with only Sarah and Naj to help. Episode 7 premieres Tuesday, March 23, 9:00p.m. ET/PT

EPISODE 8

With Abby still missing, and Greg recovering from his injuries, the group is holed up in the city, scavenging for survival. While Naj leaves graffiti messages across the crumbling landscape for Abby, Tom steals supplies from another group of survivors. The group learns that other people have been abducted in the same way as Abby, and the kidnappers bear the markings of PSJ, a pharmaceutical company with offices in the city. As Tom leads Al, Anya and Sarah off on this trail, Greg and Naj find themselves confronted by the group Tom stole from. Meanwhile, in the lab, Abby is re-infected by Whittaker, who will stop at nothing to find his miracle vaccine. Episode 8 premieres Tuesday, March 30, 9:00p.m. ET/PT

EPISODE 9

Fifty-year-old East Londoner Billy is a trader and opportunist, traversing the desolate roads of Britain in his well-stocked container truck. He meets the group and hands over vital supplies. Surprised, but grateful for Billy's generosity, the group decides to stay overnight in a cottage close by to help Abby recover from her terrifying ordeal at the Lab. Later, at Samantha's compound, Billy reveals details of the group's location, before dumping his young, innocent passenger, Kevin, at another mysterious compound. Samantha orders Dexter her gun-toting henchman to arrest Tom. She intends to reintroduce the judicial system, putting Tom on trial for the murder he committed previously against one of her people. With Tom captured and under arrest, Abby has no other option but to lead Greg and Anya in pursuit, later taking on the role of Counsel For The Defense, while Greg and Anya become members of the jury. Tom's brutal past is finally revealed for all to hear, and the group is confronted with the reality of the man it's harbored. As the trial threatens to fall apart, a string of betrayals and double-crosses ensues. Episode 9 premieres Tuesday, April 6, 9:00p.m. ET/PT

EPISODE 10

Tom and Greg are enslaved alongside Kevin and dozens of others in Mr. Smithson's coal mine. Meanwhile, the group is desperately hunting for them and follows Billy, the only lead, to a roadside motel where he is meeting his girlfriend, Sally. When questioned, Billy feigns ignorance and exits under the pretence of asking around while on his trading route, leaving the group with Sally. In the mine, an accident leaves Kevin badly injured. Greg formulates an escape plan by convincing Smithson that he's a geologist and has discovered a gas leak in the mine. However, the group is converging on Smithson's with its own rescue plans, leading to a dangerous game of cat and mouse. Episode 10 premieres Tuesday, April 13, 9:00p.m. ET/PT

EPISODE 11

Reunited and on the road, the group travels South on the lookout for a new home. They encounter a small but thriving community of survivors and, after some initial trepidation, decide to take up their offer of hospitality. While Al and Sarah enjoy their new romance, Tom simmers as Anya makes friends with the new community's leader, Judy. Greg and Abby leave together to follow up their own investigations: Greg into a mysterious postcard he was sent shortly before the virus hit, and Abby into the Lab and the imprisoned survivors she met during her time there. Meanwhile, Sarah discovers an elderly couple dying from a new, mutant strain of the virus. Episode 11 premieres Tuesday, April 20, 9:00p.m. ET/PT

EPISODE 12

The group convenes in the ruined Lab. With a new strain of the virus loose, the Lab's work to find a

vaccine is more important than ever. Unable to find any signs of Whittaker, Abby agrees to provide whatever samples needed to create a cure. Al, believing that he has nothing left to lose, volunteers himself to test the vaccine. Meanwhile Whittaker, surviving off the serum gleaned from Abby's blood in Episode 2, continues to hamper the group's plans with lies and deceptions, leading the group to the abandoned airbase for a final showdown with the mysterious Landry. Episode 12 premieres Tuesday, April 27, 10:00p.m. ET/PT
