ACTOR/COMEDIAN JAMIE KENNEDY TO GUEST STAR ON SYFY'S EUREKA

Season 4 to Premiere July 9, 2010

New York, New York - April 26, 2010- Eureka, Syfy's popular original dramedy series, has cast actor Jamie Kennedy (Ghost Whisperer, Scream trilogy), for a guest appearance on the show's fourth season. Eureka is currently being filmed on location in Vancouver, B.C. Syfy has ordered 20 episodes of the series, which will premiere July 9, 2010 at 9PM ET/PT. Kennedy joins a lineup of previously announced guest stars including Jaime Ray Newman, Matt Frewer and Wil Wheaton.

Jamie Kennedy will play Dr. Ramsey in the episode entitled "The Story of O2," directed by series star Colin Ferguson. In the episode, Sheriff Jack Carter (Ferguson) leaves Eureka to visit his daughter Zoe (Jordan Hinson) at Harvard while the town celebrates Space Week. A new self-propagating oxygen technology developed by Dr. Ramsey in order to potentially colonize on Mars mysteriously begins to build up in the atmosphere above Eureka threatening to incinerate the entire town. The episode is scheduled to premiere Friday, July 30, 2010.

Kennedy, who is also a comedian, writer, and author, had his first film role as an extra in Dead Poets Society starring Robin Williams. He is most popular for playing the role of the movie buff, geeky Randy Meeks, in the Scream feature film trilogy. He headlined his own popular series The Jamie Kennedy Experiment, and appeared in films including Romeo + Juliet, Three Kings and Bowfinger.

Eureka seems like any other cozy, Pacific Northwest town, but is actually a secret community of geniuses assembled by the government to conduct top-secret research. What they've unwittingly created is a place where anything imaginable can happen... and does. The series stars Colin Ferguson, Salli Richardson-Whitfield, Joe Morton, Erica Cerra, Neil Grayston, and Niall Matter. Co-creator Jaime Paglia and Bruce Miller are Executive Producers. The series is produced and distributed by Universal Cable Productions.

The third season of Eureka was its highest-rated and most-watched season ever. With full DVR playback data factored in, Eureka settled comfortably into its new night, Fridays at 9PM, last summer averaging an impressive 3.2 million total viewers per week. This was also the show's best season ever in adults 18-49 (averaging 1.4 million per week) and adults 25-54 (1.6 million per week).

Syfy is a media destination for imagination-based entertainment. With year round acclaimed original series, events, blockbuster movies, classic science fiction and fantasy programming, a dynamic Web site (www.Syfy.com), and a portfolio of adjacent business (Syfy Ventures), Syfy is a passport to limitless possibilities. Originally launched in 1992 as SCI FI Channel, and currently in more than 96 million homes, Syfy is a network of NBC Universal, one of the world's leading media and entertainment companies. (Syfy. Imagine greater.)
