TNT Greenlights Lawyer Buddy Series FRANKLIN & BASH, Starring Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Breckin Meyer
TNT has given the greenlight to the buddy lawyer series FRANKLIN & BASH, starring Mark-Paul Gosselaar (NYPD Blue, TNT's Raising the Bar) and Breckin Meyer (Heroes). TNT has ordered 10 episodes of the series, which is produced by Four Sycamore Productions, Left Coast Productions and FanFare Productions in association Sony Pictures Television. FRANKLIN & BASH is executive-produced by Jamie Tarses (TNT's HawthoRNe, TBS's My Boys), Kevin Falls (Shark, The West Wing) and Bill Chais (Shark, Dirty Sexy Money). Falls and Chais wrote the pilot.
"FRANKLIN & BASH is a hugely entertaining, smart and funny take on the legal procedural," said Michael Wright, executive vice president, head of programming, for TNT, TBS and Turner Classic Movies (TCM). "After viewing the outstanding pilot, we realized that its emphasis on quirky, likeable characters and solid procedural structure make it an ideal addition to our current line-up of series on TNT. As an odd-couple pair of lawyers, Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Breckin Meyer play off each other extremely well. With the outstanding cast around them, plus Kevin Falls and Bill Chais' great words, we're very excited about bringing this series to TNT."
In FRANKLIN & BASH, two young, fly-by-the-seat-of-their-pants street lawyers cause a seismic culture clash when they join a legendary, button-down law firm. Meyer plays Jared Franklin, who has a knack for connecting with jury and judge. Gosselaar is Steven Bash, who loves sticking it to authority every chance he gets.
In addition to Gosselaar and Meyer, FRANKLIN & BASH stars Malcolm McDowell (Heroes, Entourage) as Stanton Infeld, a Renaissance man and the patriarch of the law firm that recruits the two lawyers. Also starring are Dana Davis (10 Things I Hate About You), Kumail Nanjiani (Michael & Michael Have Issues) and Reed Diamond (Homicide: Life on the Street, Dollhouse) and Garcelle Beauvais (NYPD Blue).
