CAMELOT (Starz) - Fred Fuchs, an executive at the CBC, has joined the upcoming drama as an executive producer. Ecosse Films, Octagon Films and Take 5 Productions are all behind the project, which is billed as "a wholly original approach to the timeless Arthurian legend." Chris Chibnall, Craig Cegielski, Douglas Rae, Graham King, James Flynn, Michael Hirst, Morgan O'Sullivan and Tim Headington likewise serve as executive producers. Production on the 10-episode series begins this summer.
LAW & ORDER: LOS ANGELES (NBC) - Rene Balcer has been tapped as showrunner of the upcoming "Law & Order" spin-off. Balcer is coming off a three-year stint at the helm of the original "Law & Order," which wraps its 20-season run on Monday. He also spearheaded the first five seasons of fellow spin-off "Law & Order: Criminal Intent." Dick Wolf, Blake Masters and Peter Jankowski also serve as executive producers on "Los Angeles," which is being created by Masters and Wolf.
THE MEL B PROJET (Style, New!) - The cable channel has ordered 10 episodes of a new series following Spice Girl alum Melanie Brown. Eli Holzman, Todd Hurvitz and Stephen Lambert of Studio Lambert are behind the project, which will launch over Labor Day weekend. Said half-hour will feature Brown and her husband, Stephen Belafonte, as they juggle their careers and family.
