INVESTIGATION DISCOVERY'S HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL ORIGINAL SERIES THE SHIFT RETURNS WITH SEASON 3 PREMIERING WEDNESDAY, JULY 7 AT 10 PM (ET)

- Episodes Premiere Wednesdays at 10 PM (ET); Season 3 Finale Airs Wednesday, August 4 -

(Silver Spring, MD) - Investigation Discovery's successful original series, THE SHIFT returns with another action-packed season following the work and lives of one of the most elite homicide teams in America today. With exclusive access, THE SHIFT takes a behind-the-scenes look at detectives whose teamwork and tenacity combine to provide justice for victims and closure for their loved ones. Focused on the efforts and techniques of these homicide detectives, THE SHIFT chronicles the "middle shift" of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) that works from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, considered to be "primetime" hours for homicide. While those are their official hours, these investigators work tirelessly to solve their cases whenever they happen. Gripping, unscripted and authentic, Season 3 of THE SHIFT premieres Wednesday, July 7 at 10 PM (ET) on Investigation Discovery.

Indianapolis is one of the fastest-growing cities in the country, and with this growth comes an increase in violent crimes that plague many big cities. For this year alone, IMPD has handled 62 cases and currently maintains an 83.9% clearance rate - one of the highest clearance rates in the country. THE SHIFT is comprised of an ensemble cast with Detectives Jesse Beavers, Cameron Brosseau, Tom Tudor, Lesia Moore, Scott Scheid, Sergeant Jeff Breedlove, Lieutenant Kevin Kelly, Captain Mark Rice, Major Chris Boomershine and Deputy Chief William Benjamin. From the initial call requesting officers at the scene of a crime to the ultimate satisfaction of clicking the cuffs on a suspect, this series doesn't miss a beat while it follows the detectives in real time as they chase every lead and suspect to get to the truth. Returning with five more gripping episodes this season, viewers are granted exclusive access to these real-life investigations, crime scenes, and perhaps the most compelling aspect of the series, interrogations.

THE SHIFT is produced for Investigation Discovery by Happy Owl Media. Kathleen Minton and Pauline Mason are executive producers for Happy Owl. For Investigation Discovery, Keila Woodard is associate producer, Sara Kozak is vice president of production and Henry Schleiff is president and general manager of Investigation Discovery.
