GOSSIP GIRL (The CW) - "Melrose Place" alum Katie Cassidy has booked a multi-episode arc on the netlet's signature soap. She'll play a student at Columbia/love interest for fellow undergrad Nate (Chace Crawford), who causes problems for several of the Upper East Siders. Said character will debut in the season four opener, which is currently filming in Paris.
MAD LOVE (CBS) - Judy Greer ("Miss/Guided") has joined the cast of the comedy, about four pals looking for love in New York City. She'll play Connie, the sardonic best friend of Sarah Chalke's character. Lizzy Caplan originated the role in the pilot, but opted not to continue with the series. Greer's addition reportedly will seal a 13-episode pickup for the Matt Tarses-penned project, which is set to be formally announced this week. CBS Television Studios, FanFare Productions and Sony Pictures Television are co-producing.
