LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- TNT will close the books on its summer lineup on Wednesday, September 22, network sources have confirmed to the site exclusively.
Said date marks the two-hour season finale of "Dark Blue" ("Dead Flowers/Personal Effects"). The show's sophomore run likewise opens with a two-hour premiere ("Urban Garden/Liar's Poker") on Wednesday, August 4 at 9:00/8:00c, meaning all 10 episodes this season will air in just eight weeks.
Here's a breakdown of the rest of the network's summer finales:
-- Tuesday entries "Hawthorne" and "Memphis Beat" will close their respective seasons on Tuesday, August 24.
-- Sunday drama "Leverage" will wrap the summer half of its third season on Sunday, September 5 at 9:00/8:00c.
-- And finally, Monday dramas "The Closer" and "Rizzoli & Isles" will conclude their summer runs on Monday, September 13.
Both "The Closer" and "Leverage" will then return this winter for their remaining installments, presumably to help launch the new seasons of "Men of a Certain Age" and "Southland" and/or newcomers "Franklin & Bash" and "Fallen Skies."
