PETER WELLER JOINS SEASON 5 OF DEXTER(TM)
CELEBRATED ACTOR TO GUEST STAR IN 8 EPISODES OF SHOWTIME'S EMMY(R) NOMINATED DRAMA SERIES DEXTER(TM)

LOS ANGELES, CA - (July 13, 2010) - Celebrated stage, film and television actor Peter Weller has joined the cast of SHOWTIME's recently Emmy(R)-nominated drama series DEXTER. Weller, who will guest star in eight episodes in the upcoming fifth season, will play a troubled Miami Metro police officer who gets caught up in an internal affairs investigation. Production on season five is currently underway and will premiere Sunday, September 26th at 9:00 PM ET/PT on SHOWTIME.
Peter Weller's stellar acting career spans over four decades starting with his Broadway debut in the Tony Award(R)-winning play Sticks and Bones. He went on to star in numerous stage productions including Streamers, The Woods, Full Circle, Summer Brave, Daddy Wolf, Rebel Women and The Woolgather. Weller has starred in over 50 motion pictures including Shoot The Moon, Just Tell Me What You Want, Beyond The Clouds, First Born, Naked Lunch, Might Aphrodite, The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai and the Robocop franchise. His numerous television credits include SHOWTIME's Odyssey 5, Star Trek: Enterprise, 24 and Monk. Additionally, Weller received an Academy Award(R) nomination for directing the live action short, Partners in 1994. He is repped by APA Talent and Literary Agency and manager Craig Baumgarten.
One of the most acclaimed series on television, DEXTER most recently received seven Primetime Emmy Award(R) nominations including Outstanding Television Drama Series, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for Michael C. Hall and Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series for John Lithgow. Additionally, the series has received numerous Golden Globe(R) nominations as well as a prestigious Peabody Award in 2008 and was twice named one of AFI's top ten television series. DEXTER stars Michael C. Hall (Golden Globe(R) and SAG(R) Award winner) as a complicated and conflicted blood-spatter expert for the Miami police department who moonlights as a serial killer. The show also stars Jennifer Carpenter, Desmond Harrington, C.S. Lee, Lauren V�lez, David Zayas, and James Remar.
