Spike TV's 'Deadliest Warrior: The Game' is Ready for Battle on Xbox 360 and Prepares for the Fight on PlayStation 3

Fans Can Get into the Action Starting July 14 for Xbox LIVE Arcade and Later This Year for PlayStation Network

NEW YORK, July 14 -- Fighting fans and followers of Spike TV's multiplatform hit series, "Deadliest Warrior," now have a chance to control the fate of their favorite legendary warrior. Published by Spike Games and developed by Pipeworks Software (a part of Foundation 9 Entertainment), "Deadliest Warrior: The Game" is available for download starting today in North America, Europe, Australia and Asia* for Xbox LIVE Arcade and later this year for PlayStation Network for a retail price of $10.

Building off of its success both on-air and as a top selling downloadable TV series on Xbox LIVE Marketplace and PlayStation Network, "Deadliest Warrior: The Game," takes direct inspiration from the non-scripted original series. Gamers are able to play and customize one of eight of history's greatest warriors with armed signature weaponry of their choice all of which are visually, historically and scientifically accurate.

"The 'Deadliest Warrior' franchise has garnered much success on multiple platforms, so it was only a natural progression that we create a game that embodies the show's emphasis on an authentic and entertaining experience," said Dan Yang, senior vice president, strategy and business development, MTV Networks Entertainment Group. "We're thrilled to give fans familiar with the franchise a game that is a direct extension of the show, as well as those not familiar an entry point into the world of 'Deadliest Warrior.'"

Players can go head-to-head in single player via Arcade and Practice modes, as well as local and online multiplayer in Challenge, Battle and Tournament modes with global rankings. Once in battle, gamers will experience first-hand the realistic fighting style: area-based damage and effects with bloody scars, wounds and interactive environments with destructible elements and lifelike moves that have been motion-captured from professional fighters featured on the Spike TV show.

Fans will also enjoy a slew of in-game rewards and extras available for purchase on Xbox LIVE Marketplace and PlayStation Network. Xbox 360 players will receive samurai armor for their Xbox LIVE Avatar after beating the game with any character and a samurai mask and helmet after beating the game with all characters on Deadliest difficulty. Additionally, a "Deadliest Warrior" avatar collection, a premium theme and picture packs are available now on Xbox LIVE Marketplace at www.deadliestwarriorthegame.com/xbox. Avatars and a theme will be available on PlayStation Network later this year.

SPIKE TV is available in 98.6 million homes and is a division of MTV Networks. A unit of VIACOM (NYSE: VIA, VIA.B), MTV Networks is one of the world's leading creators of programming and content across all media platforms. Spike TV's Internet address is www.spike.com.
