New York, New York - August 2, 2010 - Those nasty Lake Placid crocodiles are back and hungrier than ever, while an alien ice creature threatens the planet's survival in the Syfy August Saturday Original Movies.

In Frost Giant, premiering Saturday, August 7, at 9PM (ET/PT), a dedicated explorer (Dean Cain, Lois and Clark) and his team search for a 19th century shipwreck off the coast of Antarctica. After the team digs up an alien ice creature that has been buried in the ice for over 200 hundred years, the creature kills the explorers and heads to the mainland, where it begins sucking the heat energy from Earth. Frost Giant also stars Lucy Brown (Primeval). A production of UFO Films.

Debuting Saturday, August 21, at 9PM (ET/PT), Lake Placid 3 stars Colin Ferguson (Eureka) as a game warden who moves his family to Lake Placid, once the site of deadly crocodile attacks. Locals assure him the crocs are gone, but his mischievous young son finds a few baby crocs and begins feeding them. They quickly grow into very big adults and start attacking the game warden's family and nearby town. Lake Placid 3 also stars Yancy Butler (Kick-Ass) and Michael Ironside (Terminator Salvation).
