UNTITLED BO BURNHAM PROJECT (MTV, New!) - Comedian Bo Burnham is set to topline a new comedy about "a kid fresh out of high school who's pursing the new American dream of being a celebrity without having any talent." He'll pen and executive produce the half-hour, which has a pilot commitment, alongside Dan Lagana and Luke Liacos as well as Dave Becky of 3 Arts Entertainment. Burnham's stand-up special "Words, Words, Words" premieres Saturday, October 16 on sibling network Comedy Central.
UNTITLED LENA DUNHAM PROJECT (HBO, New!) - Newcomer Lena Dunham ("Tiny Furniture") has booked a pilot order at the pay channel for a new semi-autobiographical comedy about "the assorted humiliations and rare triumphs of a group of girls in their early 20's." In addition to writing and directing, she'll star in the project and serve as a co-executive producer. Judd Apatow and Jenni Konner are attached as executive producers.
THE WISHBONES (Showtime, New!) - Tom Perrotta is bringing his novel of the same name, about "a group of guys who form a wedding band in their small town but aspire to rock 'n' roll greatness," to the small screen. The network has given a script commitment to the project, the first of its kind under incoming topper David Nevins. John Wells is on board to executive produce the hour via his Warner Bros. Television-based banner alongside Perrotta. Andrew Stearn and Robin Budd are likewise attached as producers.
