NEW YORK, Sept. 13 -- New York City is out of this world again as vampires, zombies and freaks shake up the Big Apple in new episodes of the hit animated comedy series "Ugly Americans," premiering on COMEDY CENTRAL on October 6 at 10:30 p.m.
The series follows Mark Lilly (voiced by Matt Oberg), a social worker at the "Department of Integration," as he helps new citizens, both human and "other," adapt to the hectic life in New York City. There are easier tasks than weaning vampires off blood, socializing land-whales and housebreaking werewolves, but Mark is up to the challenge. Between his stressful job, a zombie roommate and a demon girlfriend, Mark's lucky if he can sneak in a few minutes of sleep.
In the new episodes, Mark Lilly has to deal with a clingy new roommate after Randall leaves to join a zombie cult and Twayne has to face the repercussions of making a terrible deal for a politician's soul. Then Mark tries to help Leonard with his wand issues with disastrous results, and Mark and Randall go down to hell to spend Halloween with Callie's family, who has some special plans for Mark.
In addition to Mark Lilly, the "Ugly Americans" cast features Randall Skeffington, Mark's zombie roommate (voiced by Kurt Metzger), Callie Maggotbone, Mark's demon boss and office fling (voiced by Natasha Leggero), Leonard Powers, an aging drunken wizard (voiced by Randy Pearlstein), Twayne, a terrorizing demonic bureaucrat (voiced by Michael-Leon Wooley) and Lt. Grimes (voiced by Larry Murphy), a law-enforcement officer who despises non-humans. Additional characters are voiced by Devin Clark, Mike O'Gorman and Maria Bamford, Pete Holmes and Julie Klausner.
Online, the "Ugly Americans" Web site will feature episode previews and highlights, an interactive map of Manhattan with video clips from the series, a Twitter module featuring tweets from the show's cast, characters and creators, and a downloadable Department of Integration handbook, with important information for surviving life in the Big Apple. Additionally, fans of the series can play an "Ugly Americans" Web game. Users control Mark and interact with various characters from the series as he helps them to do the right (or wrong) thing, with hilarious results. There will also be a Facebook Personality Quiz, "Which Ugly Americans Character Are You?", where fans can take a short survey to find out if they are Mark, Randall, Callie or one of the shows' other characters, and then share the results with their friends.
"Ugly Americans: Volume One" DVD will be released by COMEDY CENTRAL Home Entertainment and Paramount Home Entertainment on Tuesday, October 5. A selection of special features include: an original Webisode; an animatic sneak peek of an upcoming episode; an audio commentary from David M. Stern, Devin Clark and Daniel Powell, as well as art galleries.
On October 7, "Ugly Americans" new episodes will be available for Download to Own in HD, on iTunes, Xbox and PlayStation and SD on Amazon.
