EMMY(R)- AND PEABODY-WINNING HBO DRAMA SERIES IN TREATMENT KICKS OFF THIRD SEASON OCT. 25, DEBUTING EPISODES MONDAY AND TUESDAY; GOLDEN GLOBE WINNER GABRIEL BYRNE RETURNS, JOINED BY NEW CAST MEMBERS DANE DEHAAN, IRRFAN KHAN, AMY RYAN AND DEBRA WINGER

As Dr. Paul Weston continues to struggle with the aftermath of his divorce, he faces new emotional and physical challenges - including hand tremors that he fears might be the onset of Parkinson's Disease, which killed his father. Meanwhile, he takes on three challenging new patients and turns to a new therapist of his own.

HBO's Emmy(R)- and Peabody Award-winning half-hour drama series IN TREATMENT kicks off its third season this October, with two new half-hour episodes debuting back-to-back on MONDAY, OCT. 25 (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET/PT), and two more new half-hour episodes debuting back-to-back on TUESDAY, OCT. 26 (9:00-10:00 p.m.), followed by other new episodes debuting at the same time on subsequent Mondays and Tuesdays. Gabriel Byrne (Emmy(R) nominee and Golden Globe winner for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series - Drama) returns as Dr. Paul Weston, joined by new cast members Dane DeHaan (Obie winner for "The Aliens"), Irrfan Khan ("Slumdog Millionaire"), Amy Ryan (HBO's "The Wire"; Oscar(R) nominee for "Gone Baby Gone") and Debra Winger (Oscar(R) nominee for "An Officer and a Gentleman," "Shadowlands" and "Terms of Endearment").

In the third season of IN TREATMENT, Dr. Paul Weston (Gabriel Byrne) continues his therapy practice out of the living room of his Brooklyn brownstone. Among his patients are: Frances (Debra Winger) an aging stage and screen star who has been "blanking out" during rehearsals for a major Broadway role; Sunil (Irrfan Khan), a recent widower and new immigrant from Calcutta, now living with his son's family in Brooklyn and struggling with life in America; and Jesse (Dane DeHaan), a gay, adopted 16-year-old who was recently contacted by his birth mother. Each Friday, Paul visits Adele (Amy Ryan), his new therapist.

Executive producers Anya Epstein (HBO's "Tell Me You Love Me") and Dan Futterman (Oscar(R)-nominee for "Capote") conceived entirely original and uniquely American storylines for the third season, a first for the series. The previous two seasons of IN TREATMENT were adapted from the scripts for the Israeli version of the show that inspired the HBO series.
