"HGTV DESIGN STAR" WINNER EMILY HENDERSON REVEALS "SECRETS FROM A STYLIST" IN HER NEW SHOW

Series Premieres Saturday, February 26, at 9 p.m. ET/PT

New York, N.Y. [For Immediate Release - February 1, 2011] Emily Henderson, professional prop stylist and the season five winner of HGTV Design Star, returns to the network with her delightfully ingenious sense of style in Secrets From A Stylist. During the series, premiering on Saturday, February 26, at 9 p.m. ET/PT, Emily will help homeowners identify their innermost design passions by conducting a "style diagnostic." Armed with the homeowners' responses she will then customize the space layer by layer until a truly personalized look is achieved.

Throughout the design and shopping process, Emily also will reveal how she finds fantastic items in vintage stores, antique shops and flea markets. Fans, too, will have an interactive opportunity to learn more about their specific design style. Visitors to HGTV.com can upload photos and videos of their space now for a weekly chance to win a style diagnosis from Emily.

Each episode features key diagnostic questions for homeowners that range from selecting a favorite outfit for their partner, ranking design objects in order of preference or sharing which movie set they would love to "live in." After Emily uncovers the homeowners' style layers - whether its "Mid-Century Modern meets Global Bohemian" or "Atomic Kitsch meets Industrial Loft" - she transforms one room with the first design layer. Equipped with the homeowners' feedback, Emily will then fine-tune the room by incorporating elements from the second style layer, including new furniture, accessories and paint. The result is a customized room that the homeowners love.

"During the production of HGTV Design Star, we recognized Emily's marvelous ability to listen to clients and translate their hidden passions into a tangible design style," said Kathleen Finch, general manager, HGTV. "Emily's design approach offers a unique way for viewers to reveal their style, as well as ideas on how to implement that style into their home."

In the premiere episode, Emily meets Bobby and Hilary, a couple who love to entertain in their 1920s Spanish-style home. While their living room area has great features, including a spacious ceiling and beautiful hardwood floors, the space is plain and uninviting. The style diagnostic reveals that Hilary loves the glamour and luxury of "Hollywood Regency," but Bobby prefers the traditional and relaxed style that Emily identifies as "Country Club Chic."

For the first design layer, Emily creates a classic Hollywood Regency look. While, the couple loves the warm baby blues, white accent pieces and sparkling pillows, they realize they prefer a more comfortable space that incorporates more of Bobby's style. Emily then adds a cozier color palette and masculine-style furniture to create a second design layer. The result is a unique and personalized combination of both styles that the couple says is perfect for everyday living and entertaining friends.
