February 7, 2011

(Silver Spring, Md. ) Clark Bunting, President & GM of Discovery Channel, today announced the Nancy Daniels has been named Executive Vice President, Production and Development, Discovery Channel. Based in Los Angeles, Daniels will report to Bunting.

"Nancy's a brilliant television executive, and one of the sharpest nonfiction storytellers in our industry," said Bunting. "Having hired her at Discovery Studios, I know she's able to lead a dynamic and effective team while driving strong programming results, like she did with the comeback of American Chopper. It'll be great having her on the Discovery Channel team."

She joined Discovery Communications in 2007 as Vice President of Development and Production for Discovery Studios-West Coast, and was subsequently elevated to Senior Vice President.

"Nancy and Clark are a powerhouse team," said Eileen O'Neill, Group President, Discovery and TLC Networks. "Her proven success at TLC and ability to identify and nurture compelling real-life characters will help guide Discovery Channel to continued ratings success."
