VH1 Announces Lineup for 15th Anniversary Season of Iconic Music Series "VH1 Storytellers" Premiering this Spring

Featured Artists Include Kings of Leon, Cee Lo Green, Death Cab For Cutie, Maxwell, My Morning Jacket and Ray LaMontagne

NEW YORK, Feb. 16, 2011 -- VH1 announced today its lineup for the 15th anniversary season of the renowned music franchise "VH1 Storytellers." Featured bands and artists this season will include Cee Lo Green, Death Cab For Cutie, Kings of Leon, Maxwell, My Morning Jacket and Ray LaMontagne. Hailing back to the show's early roots, the new season will aim to provide a truly personal showcase for some of the greatest songwriters of today. The "VH1 Storytellers" music specials focus on the anecdotes, artistic musings and stories that inspired the artists and their music. These performers aren't afraid to tell all as they expose the most intimate details of their creative process for the audience. Kings of Leon will kick off the new season of "VH1 Storytellers" beginning this May.

"With this new season we want to go back to the original idea of great singer/songwriters who you don't see on TV very often talking to a small audience about their inspirations where the songs come from," said Bill Flanagan, Executive Producer. "'VH1 Storytellers' started with artists like Paul Simon, Elvis Costello and Tom Waits. It feels right to put the spotlight now on singer/songwriters like Jim James of My Morning Jacket and Ray LaMontagne. These are the greats of this generation."

"VH1 Storytellers" is a VH1 original series in which a singer/songwriter performs and tells stories in front of an intimate audience about their life in the industry, writing lyrics, playing with other musicians and their career. The series started in 1996 with Ray Davies. Since then, episodes have featured David Bowie, Kanye West, Bruce Springsteen, Mary J. Blige, Green Day, Elton John, Coldplay, Jay-Z, Billy Joel, Pearl Jam, Dixie Chicks, Johnny Cash, Foo Fighters, John Mayer and Christina Aguilera among many others. For more information about the series and to watch video clips from past performances go to Storytellers.VH1.com.

"VH1 Storytellers" is a production of VH1. Patrizia DiMaria produces with Lee Rolontz, Rick Krim and Bill Flanagan serving as executive producers.
