HOW TO MAKE IT IN AMERICA (HBO) - James Ransone ("Treme") and Mike Zegen ("Boardwalk Empire") have both landed arcs on the fellow pay channel series. Ransone will play Neanderthal Tim, "a Brooklyn artist and rival clothing company owner who will be Ben (Bryan Greenberg) and Cam's (Victor Rasuk) antagonist." Details on Zegen's character however weren't specified.
THE KNITTING CIRCLE (HBO, New!) - Former "Grey's Anatomy" star Katherine Heigl is set to topline and executive produce a potential small screen take on Ann Hood's best-selling novel of the same name. Craig Wright ("Dirty Sexy Money") is on board to pen said adaptation, which comes from Pine Street Pictures. Said effort revolves around a married woman (Heigl) struggling to overcome the death of her young daughter who finds solace in a knitting circle. Heigl then will produce alongside her mother Nancy via their Abishag banner.
NCIS: LOS ANGELES (CBS) - Claire Forlani ("Camelot") is set to recur on the series as Lauren Hunter, the team's "attractive, authoritative, cool and calculating" new Operations Manager. She'll appear in the final two episodes of the current season, as she takes over for Linda Hunt's character in a yet-to-be-revealed storyline.
REGAL PRODUCTIONS (Adult Swim, New!) - Bob Odenkirk is set to write, direct and star in a potential live-action comedy at the network about a production company in a strip mall in North Hollywood which "churns out wedding videos, Internet ads, low-budget infomercials and even feature films for ancillary markets." Odenkirk developed the Odenkirk Provissiero Entertainment-based project, which has a pilot commitment, with Brian Jarvis and Jim Freeman, who will likewise co-star.
ROYAL PAINS (USA) - Co-star Mark Feuerstein has renegotiated his deal with producer Universal Cable Productions. The new pact, which adds an additional year to his contract, will see the actor double his salary to about $135,000 per episode with an additional $5,000-15,000 per installment once additional compensation, including bonuses, is factored in. As previously reported, the series kicks off its third season on Wednesday, June 30 at 9:00/8:00c.
UNTITLED AMBER TAMBLYN PROJECT (FOX, New!) - Amber Tamblyn is set to team with her "House" executive producer Katie Jacobs for a potential drama which would star Tamblyn as "a young teacher in the world of public education in America." Ed Burns ("The Wire"), himself a former public school teacher, is on board to pen the project which Jacobs will direct. Both will executive produce for 20th Century Fox Television with Tamblyn serving as a co-executive producer. Tony-winner Lin-Manuel Miranda is also expected to be involved in some capacity.
