2011 "Monday Night Football" Preseason Schedule

ESPN will televise four NFL games as part of its 2011 Monday Night Football preseason schedule. Play-by-play commentator Mike Tirico and analysts Jon Gruden and Ron Jaworski will call each game in anticipation of the MNF regular-season opener on Monday, Sept. 12. All MNF preseason games will begin at 8 p.m.

First, the defending NFC West champion Seattle Seahawks travel to San Diego to face Phillip Rivers and the Chargers Thursday, August 11 at Qualcomm Stadium.

Four days later, Mark Sanchez and the Jets, which appeared in the AFC Championship game the past two years, face Matt Schaub and the Texans on Aug. 15 at Reliant Stadium in Houston.

On Monday, Aug. 22, Jay Cutler and the Chicago Bears, winners of the NFC North in 2010, travel east to face Eli Manning and the Giants at the New Meadowlands Stadium.

ESPN will conclude its preseason schedule when Joe Flacco and the Baltimore Ravens, an AFC Wild Card team a year ago, host the Washington Redskins at M&T Bank Stadium on Thursday, August 25.

ESPN Deportes, ESPN's 24-hour Spanish-language domestic sports network, will once again offer a Spanish-language production of MNF preseason and regular season games in 2011.

ESPN's Monday Night Football is the most-watched series in cable television history. In five seasons on ESPN, MNF has registered eight of the top 10 all-time biggest household audiences in cable history. ESPN's MNF delivered the 16 biggest household audiences (and top 12 among viewers) for cable television in 2010, averaging a 10.5 rating and 10,495,000 homes (14,657,000 viewers). The 2010 season was the highest-rated and most-viewed season of ESPN's MNF and the second straight year the series averaged higher than a 10 rating and 14 million viewers.
