CHURCH OF ROCK (Showtime, New!) - Steven Bochco and Chris Gerolmo ("Over There") are set to reteam for a potential drama at the pay channel. Details about the project however are being kept under wraps. Separately, Gerolmo is behind the upcoming USA original movie "Prey," starring Mark Harmon. Production on said effort begins shortly in Toronto with Gerolmo directing from his own script.
MORE AS THE STORY DEVELOPS (HBO) - Emily Mortimer ("Lars and the Real Girl") has scored the female lead in the drama pilot, about the personal and professional foibles of cable news anchor Will McCallister (Jeff Daniels). She'll play MacKenzie MacHale, Will's new executive producer. Marisa Tomei was previously targeted for said role. Alison Pill and Olivia Munn also star in the project, from director Greg Mottola and writer Aaron Sorkin.
UNTITLED RYAN SEACREST PROJECT (NBC, New!) - "American Idol" host Ryan Seacrest is on track to add another series to his plate, this time at NBC. The music themed show, which he'll executive produce via his Ryan Seacrest Productions banner, is in the preliminary stages of development and isn't considered to be a traditional competition show (a la "Idol"). It's not clear if Seacrest himself will appear on the series as his current "Idol" contract bars him from appearing on any other broadcast network until 2012.
