NEW YORK, NY - May 05, 2011 - VH1 Classic recognizes the most famous and decorated hard rock and heavy metal stars on the planet in the 3rd annual "Revolver Golden Gods Awards" on Saturday, May 28 at 10PM*. The awards show will be hosted by Chris Jericho, a former WWE World Champion, current lead singer for the band Fozzy, and best known for his recent stint on the hit show, "Dancing With the Stars."
Celebrating the best in hard rock and heavy metal, the "Revolver Golden Gods Awards" is a televised performance and awards show die-hard music fans will not forget. Significant highlights of the evening include the handing out of the first ever Ronnie James Dio Lifetime Achievement Award to legends Motley Crue; a performance of "School's Out" by iconic music legend Alice Cooper with the original Alice Cooper Group, who also takes home the coveted Golden God Award, presented by his shock rocker friend, Rob Zombie.
