LUPE FIASCO SET TO PERFORM AT THE "2011 MTV MOVIE AWARDS"

R&B STAR TREY SONGZ TO JOIN FIASCO IN THEIR DEBUT TELEVISION PERFORMANCE TOGETHER

Jason Sudeikis Hosts the 20th Annual "2011 MTV Movie Awards" LIVE on Sunday, June 5 at 9pm ET/8pm CT

NEW YORK, NY (May 12, 2011) - Critically-acclaimed hip-hop superstar Lupe Fiasco will take the stage at the "2011 MTV Movie Awards". He will be joined by R&B sensation, Trey Songz for their first-ever televised performance together. Grammy Award-winning Lupe Fiasco will treat viewers to two songs from his hit album LASERS, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard charts. Fiasco will first rip the stage with the television debut of Fiasco and Trey Songz's collaborative single "Out of My Head," to be followed by a performance of his platinum single "The Show Goes On."

Lupe Fiasco and Trey Songz are the first performers to be announced and join previously announced presenters Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Steve Carell, Emma Stone, Shia LaBeouf, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Josh Duhamel, Patrick Dempsey, Cameron Diaz, Jason Segel, Jesse Eisenberg, Aziz Ansari, Danny McBride, Nicki Minaj, Selena Gomez, Leighton Meester and Katie Cassidy. Hosted by Jason Sudeikis, the "2011 MTV Movie Awards" will broadcast LIVE from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, CA on Sunday, June 5 at 9pm ET/8pm CT.

"I'm excited to be performing on this year's MTV Movie Awards," said Lupe Fiasco. "I'm looking forward to putting together another special performance for my fans."

"'Out Of My Head' is such a dope song and easily one of my favorite collaborations to date. When Lupe first played the track for me I knew it was going to be a smash and I'm happy it's been received so well," said Trey Songz. "The 'MTV Movie Awards' are such a special event and Lupe is a great performer, so I am excited to be able to do the show with him."

LASERS is the eagerly awaited follow-up to Lupe's blockbuster second album, LUPE FIASCO'S THE COOL, which debuted on Billboard's "Top Rap Albums" chart at #1 upon its December 2007 release. The Chicago-based MC is without question one of the most compelling and creative artists of the modern era, offering a rare combination of complex, thought-provoking lyricism coupled with sure-fire beats. Lupe's debut album, LUPE FIASCO'S FOOD & LIQUOR, exploded onto Billboard's "Top Rap Albums" chart at #1 upon its September 2006 release, while also entering the Billboard 200 at #8. The multi-talented rapper soon proved to be the year's biggest hip-hop breakthrough, garnering a trio of Grammy Award nominations, including "Best Rap Album," "Best Rap Song," and "Best Rap Solo Performance." In February 2008, Lupe took home his first-ever Grammy Award, scoring the "Best Urban/Alternative Performance" trophy for the smash single, "Daydreamin' (Feat. Jill Scott)."

PASSION, PAIN & PLEASURE follows Songz' breakthrough third album, 2009's RIAA gold-certified READY, which has sold over 800,000 copies to date. Fueled by an infinite streak of hit singles - including "I Need A Girl," "LOL :-) (Feat. Gucci Mane and Soulja Boy Tell 'Em)," "Successful (Drake & Trey Songz)," "I Invented Sex," "Neighbors Know My Name," and the RIAA platinum-certified "Say Aah" - "READY" made a stunning Top 10 debut on the Billboard 200 and later received a Grammy Award nomination for "Best Contemporary R&B Album." This marks Songz' second Grammy nomination to date, the first being in 2008 in the "Best Single" category for his hit, "Can't Help But Wait." The R&B superstar's fourth studio album, was released in September and debuted at #1 on the "R&B/Hip Hop Chart" and #2 on the Top 200, thanks to the success of the two smash singles "Bottoms Up (feat. Nicki Minaj)," and "Can't Be Friends." Both singles took radio by storm and reached #1 at Urban Mainstream and Rhythmic stations, with "Bottoms Up (feat. Nicki Minaj)"securing platinum status in digital sales.

The "2011 MTV Movie Awards" will turn fantasy into reality as the improbable materializes live before viewers' eyes. The magic and wonder of movies will go from the big screen to the "Movie Awards" stage as the fantastical world of whimsical landscapes and larger-than-life, reality-defying moments that audiences love are celebrated. Sure to be a treat for the over-active imagination, this year's ceremony will build upon the "Movie Awards" trademark individuality and status as Hollywood's most outrageous live event to provide movie fans with an experience worthy of their favorite blockbusters from the past year.

Emmy(r) Award Winner Mark Burnett returns for the fifth year in a row to executive produce the "2011 MTV Movie Awards" in Los Angeles, where movie megastars will vie for the golden popcorn in award categories as only MTV could create them. The "2011 MTV Movie Awards" will be a dead heat as the blockbusters "Inception" and "The Social Network" give fan favorite film franchises "The Twilight Saga" and "Harry Potter" some serious competition that could make the night anyone's to win. Winner voting at MovieAwards.MTV.com for the "2011 MTV Movie Awards" in 12 returning and all-new categories closes on Saturday, June 4. The "BEST MOVIE" category will remain an ongoing battle throughout the LIVE show.
