Al Madrigal Joins as Contributor on Comedy Central's(R) "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" With His First Appearance Tonight at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT
NEW YORK, May 17, 2011 -- Al Madrigal has been tapped by the Emmy(R) and Peabody(R) Award-winning "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" to join "The Best F*ing News Team Ever!" Madrigal's first segment as a contributor is scheduled to air tonight, May 17 at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT when he will address the topic of immigration with Jon Stewart in the studio.
The New York Times calls Madrigal's comedy "dynamic" and HBO's U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen named him "Best Stand-Up Comedian." His unique, spontaneous and fast-paced lyrical, story-telling style has made him a regular on television with numerous appearances on COMEDY CENTRAL including his own half-hour stand-up special, "COMEDY CENTRAL Presents: Al Madrigal," "John Oliver's New York Stand-up Show" and "Pretend Time with Nick Swardson." His late-night television appearances include "Conan," "Lopez Tonight," "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" and "Jimmy Kimmel Live."
Madrigal's network television credits include CBS's "Welcome to the Captain" with Jeffrey Tambor and "Gary Unmarried." This fall, NBC has scheduled his latest project, "Free Agents," about two co-workers who fall in love (played by Hank Azaria and Kathryn Hahn) for Wednesday nights at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT.
"The Daily Show" airs Monday-Thursday at 11:00 p.m. and repeats at 2:00 a.m. the same night and at 9:30 a.m., 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. the following day (all times ET/PT).
