SYFY KICKS OFF THE SUMMER SEASON WITH FOUR DAY MEMORIAL DAY MOVIE MARATHON, MAY 27-30, FEATURING STAR TREK WEEKEND

NEW YORK - May 17, 2011 - Syfy will kick off the unofficial start of Summer 2011 with a gala four day Memorial Day movie marathon, May 27-May 30.

On Friday, May 27 from 8AM-4AM (ET/PT) -- only coming to the surface for a new episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown(R) at 8-10PM -- Syfy will present movies starring aquatic monster favorites such as Mega Piranha, Mega Shark Vs Giant Octopus and Malibu Shark Attack.

Saturday, May 28 (10:30AM-4AM) and Sunday, May 29 (11AM-4AM), Syfy will beam viewers aboard the Starship Enterprise for a galactic movie treat showcasing nine Star Trek films featuring the crews of both Captain Kirk and Captain Picard.

The holiday feast concludes on Memorial Day, Monday, May 30 with theatrical films from 8AM-2AM including Underworld and Underworld: Evolution.
