ABC FAMILY TO LAUNCH ONLINE GAME "THE NINE PATHS TO CHLOE KING," TUESDAY, MAY 24

The Three-Week Game to Precede the Debut of Network's New One-Hour Scripted Series, "The Nine Lives of Chloe King," Premiering on Tuesday, June 14

The First ABCFamily.com Visitor to Beat the Challenges Embedded Within Each Of the Nine Paths and Reach Chloe King Will Win a Trip to the Show's Set

Burbank, CA (Tuesday, May 24, 2011) - ABC Family launches The Nine Paths to Chloe King, an exciting three-week online game, today (Tuesday, May 24) that will allow viewers to delve deeper into the mysterious world of the Mai, as part of the network's new original series "The Nine Lives of Chloe King," premiering Tuesday, June 14 at 9:00PM ET/PT. To play the game, viewers can log onto www.abcfamily.com/ninepaths to start their online journey!

The network's new one-hour scripted action drama follows teenager Chloe King, who is looking forward to celebrating her 16th birthday with her friends and single mother -- just like every other year - until she starts developing heightened abilities and discovers she's being pursued by a mysterious figure. Chloe soon learns she's part of an ancient race called the Mai, which has been hunted by human assassins for millennia-and that she may be their only hope for ultimate survival.

The game centers around a prophecy in which a circle of strangers can help lead the Mai people to their Uniter. By becoming part of the "Circle of Strangers," viewers will learn more about the mythology of the Mai and the destiny of the main character, Chloe King.

Players will begin their online journey at ABCFamily.com, starting with a virtual box of content that contains mysterious objects and clues. To find answers, they must set out and complete nine separate paths that will have them visiting multiple sites across the web. At each site, players will need to complete a new challenge that will unlock exclusive content and further shed light on the Mai. Fans will be encouraged to use social media to get their friends to help them! The first eligible viewer to beat the challenges embedded within each of the nine paths and save Chloe will win a trip to the set of "The Nine Lives of Chloe King" for themselves and a guest, pending verification*.

Various bloggers and online writers will also be invited to play the game along with viewers (but will not be eligible to win the on-set visit). They will have their journeys featured on ABCFamily.com through Storify, an application that enables the simple curation of media from social networks and across the Web to publish stories.

The story of the Mai is the background mythology for the ABC Family series. The supposed offspring of the Egyptian goddess Bastet, the Mai are considered to be both god and human. From the very beginning, the Mai have had a symbiotic relationship with humans and have been frequently referred to as their protectors.

"The Nine Lives of Chloe King" will be executive-produced by Dan Berendsen ("Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam," "Sabrina the Teenage Witch," "Hannah Montana: The Movie") and John Ziffren ("Melissa & Joey," "Make It or Break It") with Alloy Entertainment's Leslie Morgenstein ("Pretty Little Liars," "The Lying Game," "Gossip Girl," "The Vampire Diaries") and Gina Girolamo. The drama is based on the book series, The Nine Lives of Chloe King, by Liz Braswell. The series will star Skyler Samuels ("The Gates") as Chloe King; Amy Pietz ("The Office," "Caroline in the City") as Meredith King; Grey Damon ("True Blood," "Friday Night Lights") as Brian; newcomer Grace Phipps as Amy; Benjamin Stone ("10 Things I Hate About You") as Alek; Alyssa Diaz ("Southland") as Jasmine; and Ki Hong Lee ("The Secret Life of the American Teenager") as Paul.
