SYFY NAMES JEFF LI TO NEWLY CREATED ROLE OF VICE PRESIDENT, SYFY VENTURES

NEW YORK - May 31, 2011 - Syfy Ventures has named Jeff Li to the newly created position of Vice President, it was announced today by Alan Seiffert, Senior Vice President, Syfy Ventures, Syfy, to whom he will report.

Based in Syfy's New York office, Li will spearhead the launch of Syfy's social gaming business, manage the expansion of the Syfy Games' portfolio and support Syfy Ventures' additional business initiatives.

Said Seiffert: "Jeff's outstanding deal-making skills and proven success in the video games market make him uniquely positioned to help Syfy Ventures continue its rapid growth into a variety of emerging global media platforms."

Li was most recently Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Development, NBCUniversal. Since joining the company in 2005, Li oversaw numerous initiatives to expand NBCUniversal's share of the video gaming market. He helped lead GE/NBCUniversal's investment in Bigpoint GmbH, where he served as a board member for over two years and helped grow the company into one of the world's most successful online gaming companies. Li was also a major contributor to organic growth and investment projects at the company in the console, mobile and PC gaming markets.

Additionally, Li was involved in a variety of M&A, financing and business development deals at NBCUniversal, including deals related to Comcast's acquisition of NBCUniversal, ShopNBC, Hulu, Peacock Equity Fund and polo.com.

Prior to joining NBCUniversal, Li worked at the cable network startup Casino and Gaming Television as well as Ascent Media, Sony Pictures Entertainment and Bear Stearns. He earned his BA from Columbia University and his MBA from Harvard Business School.

Recently Syfy Ventures announced its first ever-publishing business under the Syfy Games banner featuring a suite of high quality games that will be available initially on Facebook in the United States. This builds upon the success of Syfy Ventures' far-reaching and groundbreaking initiatives, from the integrated TV and MMO game project with Trion Worlds to its innovative cross-platform storytelling for the Syfy and THQ Red Faction: Origins Original Movie, which will premiere Saturday, June 4, at 9PM (ET/PT) on Syfy.
