DIY Network Launches the First of Its Kind, "Hollywood Hi-Tech," An Exclusive Celebrity Renovation Series Featuring the Latest Technology and Electronics

Premiering July 20 at 9:30 p.m. ET, New Series Features Celebrities Including Oliver Stone, Kevin Connolly & Nancy O'Dell

New York, June 20, 2011 - DIY Network, the go-to-destination for home improvement, premieres the first TV series devoted to home electronics and high-end custom installation in celebrity homes, Hollywood Hi-Tech, on Wednesday, July 20 at 9:30 p.m. ET. The series follows lifestyle-technology expert and host Janna Robinson, as she installs state-of-the-art gear to completely transform the space.

The weekly half-hour series features some of Hollywood's best-known celebrities, including Academy Award-winning director Oliver Stone, Entourage star Kevin Connolly, Entertainment Tonight anchor Nancy O'Dell, and Rules of Engagement's Patrick Warburton, who actually work hand-in-hand with Robinson to create an ultimate technology makeover. The celebrities are involved in the entire process, from the initial consultation through construction and installation to the unveiling of the finished room. While these modern home theaters and entertainment rooms are aspirational for most, access to these celebrities' homes will satisfy viewers' voyeuristic urges.

Throughout the series, Janna offers tips and information on how to achieve similar results on any budget, bringing it back to the DIY Network philosophy that anyone armed with the right knowledge really can do it themselves. From lighting to electronics to whole-house technology, the program will be full of helpful information any consumer can use when evaluating and choosing hi-tech options for their own homes. Offering real solutions for real people, Hollywood Hi-Tech covers the best technology in home audio and video components, whole-house control systems, wireless security webcams, and much more.

The episode schedule is as follows:

Episode 101 - Kevin Connolly

Premiere: Wednesday, July 20 at 9:30 p.m. ET

Janna Robinson visits HBO's Entourage star Kevin Connolly's house in the premiere episode of DIY Network's Hollywood Hi-Tech. In three days, lifestyle technology expert Janna Robinson and her team transform Kevin's little-used bar room into a souped-up screening palace complete with luxury raised seating, a 110-inch screen, a HD projector and custom made automatic blackout shades. Now Kevin can host his entire entourage in this new, tricked out screening room, and with so many gizmos and gadgets - not to mention a complete re-design of the dcor - even Vince would be envious.

Episode 102 - Nancy O'Dell

Premiere: Wednesday, July 27 at 9:30 p.m. ET

Hollywood Hi-Tech takes its services to Entertainment Tonight host Nancy O'Dell's house. She reports that a much needed face-lift is in order for her family's little-used man cave. Lifestyle technology expert Janna Robinson is determined to reboot this room with all the latest in electronics so that Nancy and her family can enjoy entertainment any night of the week. First, Janna has the construction team remove the archways in the room to ensure a comfortable viewing area and to open up the space. Meanwhile, the team creates a recessed home for the brand new 100-inch screen while they also create spots for five state-of-the-art in-wall surround sound speakers. Next, Janna and the team add a riser for the brand new chairs and loveseat in order for the whole family to enjoy the big screen. After hooking up a new Blu-ray player and receiver, this Hollywood family is ready to enjoy all the action in style.

Episode 103 - Patrick Warburton

Premiere: Wednesday, August 3 at 9:30 p.m. ET

Rules of Engagement star Patrick Warburton calls in lifestyle technology expert Janna Robinson and the Hollywood Hi-Tech team to completely revamp his barn into a tricked out concert hall. As Patrick and Janna check out the space, it becomes clear how dire the situation is when they find cobwebs, loose cables and a painted-on screen. Janna starts off with a few new coats of paint with Patrick by her side, and after finishing the paint job, they kick the renovation into high gear. Patrick receives 10 powerful speakers to blow the roof off his barn - not to mention a super HD projector and a 100-inch screen that is professionally installed. Janna knew this sitcom star loves to rock, so she adds an extra little addition for the Warburton family. Tune in to find out what it is.

Episode 104 - Oliver Stone

Premiere: Wednesday, August 10 at 9:30 p.m. ET

Academy Award winning Director Oliver Stone welcomes the Hollywood Hi-Tech team into his home for a much needed "tech-up." He's rocking an old, outdated system, and lifestyle technology expert Janna Robinson is here to propel his integrated home theater back into a top-of-the-line system. Oliver wants his living room to double as a screening room, so that is exactly what the team does. Janna installs a new widescreen TV into his ceiling and with one touch of a button, this sleek, silver screen descends to the perfect eye level that any director would appreciate. Next, Janna and the team deliver the professional studio sound Oliver has been lacking when they install five-driver speakers in the wall for a complete surround sound effect. Finally, Janna adds some new toys to Oliver's electronic rack that will leave him with the best picture quality and sound to make this room Oscar worthy.
