TED LINHART ELEVATED TO SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, RESEARCH, AND STACEY MARMOR BALABAN TO VICE PRESIDENT, DIGITAL & SALES RESEARCH, USA NETWORK & SLEUTH

In addition to Research, Linhart has Established his Voice of Expertise on Twitter as @TedOnTV with Thousands of Followers

NEW YORK - July 14, 2011 - Ted Linhart has been promoted to senior vice president, research, and Stacey Marmor Balaban, promoted to vice president, digital & sales research, USA Network and Sleuth, it was announced today by Chris McCumber and Jeff Wachtel, co-presidents, USA. Linhart reports to McCumber and Wachtel, and Balaban reports to Linhart. Both are based in New York.

In his new appointment, Linhart will continue to oversee and manage all of USA and Sleuth's ratings and multi-platform metrics and will now add primary, sales and digital/new media areas, thus overseeing qualitative and quantitative research for both networks. Previously, Linhart was vice president, working on USA's quantitative research.

In her new role, Balaban will be working exclusively on leading USA's sales and digital research team, where she will continue to strategically position the USA and Sleuth brands in the advertising marketplace and measure the impact of key integrated sponsorships. Previously, she served as senior director, working on research projects for both USA and Syfy.

"Ted is our secret weapon - we don't make any decisions without him," said McCumber and Wachtel. "It's rare that you find someone who has such a keen insight into all areas of what we do, and his opinions and feedback are invaluable."

"Stacey has played a vital role in USA research for many years and helped me tremendously in my first months on the job, said Linhart. "Her passion for research in addition to her unrivaled analytical skills has earned high praise and respect from her colleagues."

In April 2010, USA fans were given a direct line to the network via Twitter from Linhart with @TedOnTV. Tapping into USA's social media fanbase, which now includes show-related Twitter feeds in the double digits, Linhart tweets about all things USA, including current hit show production, developing series and breaking news, all with an offbeat sense of humor. In his year of "tweeting," he's acquired more than 7,800 followers (and counting), including fans, the stars of USA's hit shows and members of both consumer and trade press. He is a constant at red carpet events, tweets from senior staff meetings, and rewards followers with autographed giveaways and exclusive show memorabilia. A walking encyclopedia of TV programming information and overall smarts, Linhart has tweeted about the overall television landscape, including his favorite shows, awards show commentary and, naturally, ratings, and in the process has become a go-to expert for all things television.

Born and raised in Manhattan, Linhart attended The Dalton School on the Upper East Side, where his classmates included future USA star Mark Feuerstein ("Royal Pains"). Linhart has degrees from Northwestern University for both undergraduate and graduate school, earning an MBA from the University's Kellogg Graduate School of Management. After graduation, Linhart worked in the programming department at Chicago's WPWR-TV (UPN affiliate), followed by jobs at several entertainment-related internet companies. In 2004, he returned to TV in the research department at VH1, joining USA in 2005 as senior director in program research before being promoted to vice president in 2008. Linhart lives in Brooklyn with his wife Rachel and his two cats, Sonny and Cher.

Balaban has played a vital role in USA research for many years. She started her career at NBCUniversal in March 2004 as a sales research assistant at CNBC and later as a sales research analyst in the NBC News research group. She joined USA in 2005 and through her dedication and hard work, quickly progressed through the ranks and earned more senior titles. She holds a Bachelor of Science from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, where she graduated magna cum laude with concentrations in Marketing and Statistics. Balaban is a newlywed and resides in New York City with her husband, Matt.
