TRAVEL CHANNEL'S ANTHONY BOURDAIN: NO RESERVATIONS RECEIVES FOUR EMMY NOMINATIONS IN 2011

Emmy-Award Winning Series Receives Nod for Outstanding Nonfiction Series plus three for Haiti episode

Chevy Chase, Md. (July 15, 2011) - Travel Channel has received four Emmy Nominations today from The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences for its Emmy-Award winning series "Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations", including the prestigious nomination for Outstanding Nonfiction Series - 2011. The three additional Primetime Emmys nominations include: Outstanding Cinematography For Nonfiction Programming; Outstanding Writing for Nonfiction Programming - 2011; and Outstanding Picture Editing For Nonfiction Programming - 2011.

"This season, we watched Tony really push himself. His journey to Haiti was inspired by the devastation of the earthquake, but also by the beauty of the people and the magic of its culture," said Laureen Ong, President, Travel Channel. "Finding Sean Penn there was one of those great Tony "coincidences" that happen because, in many ways, Tony is the ultimate traveler -- alive and open to every moment."

In the nominated episode of "No Reservations", Anthony Bourdain visits the Caribbean nation of Haiti. He begins at the famous and beautiful Hotel Oloffson, which still shows damage from the earthquake that devastated the nation in January 2010. As he sits in the hotel bar and enjoys a rum punch, Tony reflects on Haiti's continued troubles, including a cholera epidemic and the impending Hurricane Tomas. As Bourdain walks through the rubble streets of Port Au Prince, he meets up with actor and humanitarian, Sean Penn, who is in Haiti with his relief group, J/P Haitian Relief Organization. As they explore further, they witness locals preparing for evacuation due to the impending Hurricane Tomas - a distressing warning for a group of people who have already been uprooted by the earthquake.

Currently in its seventh season, host Anthony Bourdain continues his culinary explorations as a contemporary cultural anthropologist and delivers authentic experiences from off-the-beaten path locations around the globe. Through his unmatched honesty, genuine passion for new experiences and keen wit, Tony has earned the adoration of legions of viewers and travelers alike. "Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations" airs every Monday at 9:00 p.m., ET/PT.

The winners will be announced during the 63rd Creative Arts Emmy Awards on September 10. The Live telecast of the Primetime Emmy Awards is September 18.
